My First Car, Suggestions?

Hey everyone, looking at some first cars. I'm really looking to get a classic car, just because I have an interest. Looking for suggestions, of any sort of a pretty sweet car. I'm also taking it into consideration, that I can't drive some of these in the winter, so I'm looking for relatively cheap vehicles, so I can get a main car aswell.

Well this depends on your taste of motors, if you like Pure american muscle then an impala is a great choice, Thats a bad ass car with a nice big block v8, To bad this in the UK would cost us around £10k, Id recommend a nice ford mustang fastback, i think you pick them up cheap

If not go for like a shitty car for first like a 1.0l :L instead of the 5.7l's

Also i dont know what the prices of the fuel are in canada but in England we are paying the best part of 1.40£ a litre making having big engine burning a hole in your pocket very quickly.

p.s- With the impala you wont be getting very good miles to the gallon maybe 10 or so but it will all depend if you have money for fuel and you can afford to keep it all up to shape

Why are people so cheap. My sisters first car was 20,000$ brand new honda accord coupe.. Im getting that car this year( it was 2005)

I was thinking this aswell, as it's what my brother had.

I'm not completely sure what my parents would give / lend me, but if I do find out, I will add it to the thread.

Old Impala's are great cars. Just a fair warning, that looks like a project car. Cars that are projects take a fair amount of money and time to get running correctly and reliably.

I'm sure you know what your getting into, and if you ever have any questions, I'd love to be of assistance.

My suggestion is a 67-68 Mustang Coupe. They are relatively cheap and are amazing cars. Another option would be the Fox Body mustang 80-90's, they don't look the most stunning. They are extremely quick, and know to be the most valued drag racing car because of its weight.

I own a 1983 Mustang with a 351w pulling 350+ ft/ lbs of torque, 1967 Mustang with a stock 289, 1986 F-250 6.9 Diesel with a 7.5' Meyer Snow Plowing Blade, 2004 BMW 330Ci with the SMG Manual Transmission, and a 2007 Audi A6. I know a thing or two about my cars. (;

 

I agree with previous posts. Try checking out a classic mustang. Be sure to check the mileage as it plays a big role in the price.

 

Go to an auction, not sure if they have the kind I'm talking about in Canada, very popular here in the states.

But at Estate auctions you can find some nice cars for relatively cheap.

I wouldn't look at the car you posted, or at least for 4 grand. Looks like a possible fixer-upper, plus there's no hood.

For classic cars, impalas/mustangs are a good starting place.

You'll have better luck finding a mustang because of their popularity, but they may be more expensive. Supply and demand :/

 

Well thats much better than my 1.0 first car, i always liked the ford mustangs and thats what i want in the near future. But for that car looks pretty sweet and for the price isnt to shabby.

 

My brother just bought a 1968 Pontiac GTO for his first car, Its been 4 days and it wont start up. I would suggest you take a great look at the car first see what condition its in before you buy it.
