I am predicting another Judas Priest incident.

 

Ridiculous that people would blame something like this on music. Just because some people listen to it and decide they're going to kill people, doesn't mean everyone will. I personally like slipknot, but I have enough intelligence not to kill people or let music influence me.

Children today are way to influenced by the music they listen to. All this hannah montana that kids under 10 are listening to sounds just like the shit adults are making. Kids listen to all of it and think okay, it's alright to have sex and drink and gang bang when I'm older, cuz that's what all these people do.

In my day, we had disney movies with cartoons and real shit. Not kid's acting like whores listening to mainstream pop and hip hop that talks about all the things that shouldn't be glorified in society.

Yes it has an influence, but 1 out of like a billion will take this influence and ruin it for the reputation of the metal Community. This freak incident kills 2 people and everybody wants to stop their children from listening to a type of music, millions of people die from smoking, and nobody goes on the news announcing it's bad and ruining our lives.

People need to get their priorities straight and figure out whats really wrong with the world, instead of concentrating on something that really doesn't do much harm in the world, but more good than anything.

 

Maybe the kid had mental problems. Has there ever been an incidence where a kid drops an anvil on his parent's head after having watched a Bugs Bunny episode?

If Grand Theft Auto (and other violent video games) are so influential and damaging for children/teens, then why do we not see more carjackings? If the games are responsible for violence, then shouldn't kids everywhere be running up to people at red lights with a gun, and throwing them out of their cars?

Tying Slipknot in to these murders is ridiculous. If he was wearing a hockey jersey, would we say that hockey is too violent, and is responsible for his grandparents' deaths?

No, this kid is just fucked up in the head. No amount of listening to Slipknot or any other "metal" band will make someone chop their family up with a machete, at least not a sane person.

(For the record, I'm not a Slipknot fan, can't stand em).

 

Slipknot is such a horrid band but a sad story plays a factor but AMAZING correlations like this are tied to good publicity for the newspaper or media source. Slipknot is one the worst bands in history but they shouldnt be at fault for this

Not one of these happenings again.... everything is blamed on metal. I've been listening to metal since I was 9 years old, and none of it has influenced me to go and murder people/family. Its just fucked up, this kid has mental problems. Its not the music.

Well I am a huge fan of Slipknot, just look at my username! It's not Slipknot's fault, the kid had control over his actions, sure the music makes you want to punch the living daylights out of someone, but the music did not tell him to harm anyone, therefore it's not the artist' fault.
