Osama's death was not justified

When I first found out that Osama was dead, I was happy. I thought this meant that progress was being made and that the US was closer to pulling out of the middle east. However, this happiness quickly turned into utter disgust. Regardless of crimes committed, he deserved a fair trial. By senselessly killing him, the US is simply stating to the world that they are correct in their judgement without allowing Osama to defend himself. The US acts as if it is infallible, which is just wrong. The celebrations occuring throughout the US because of this death also disgust me. Two wrongs do not make a right. Thousands of wrongs, add one more, do not make a right. The hatred that people have for one another and see past emotions to see the actual truth. By expressing joy for a death, you are expressing hatred, and by expressing hatred you are causing hatred.

The reason why jails are over crowded is because of this bs government and their view on justice and punishments.

 

It sucks for the U.S military that they killed him without capturing him and interrogating him. If he was kept alive and taken in by the U.S military they could've achieved far more than they did by straight up killing him.
Osama is gaining more by being dead than alive now.

 

I agree that he deserved a fair trial. The US didn't want to give him one because it would probably shed some light on what really happened. I too disagree with all the celebration regarding his death. He was a still a human being.

 

They've basically made a martyr out of him. Like you said, by straight up killing him without a fair trial, they've just fueled the Islamic extremeists' hatred.

 

During the raid, he used his wife as a human shield and he had a weapon in his other hand. I think the Seals had every reason to feel threatened and open fire on him.

Logically, I'd agree.
But common sense and the nature of humanity interferes, this man deserved to die and I feel, although I'm not in jubilant celebration, that this was the correct thing to do.

No matter how unjust, someone like this simply has to go.

 

It was a firefight, not an execution. I'm sure they attempted to detain him but he and others resisted.

 

I don't like conspiracy theory's normally, but I personally think this is all propoganda. He probably got killed years ago.

I once spoke to a SWAT officer and he told me "If osama would come to our camp to surrender himself we would tell him to fuck off".

I do feel kind of sorry for him - sure he did some bad stuff, but he shouldn't have been shot and buried in the sea.

 

His own birthplace didn't even want to claim him (Saudi Arabia). I do feel he needed a fair trial though. No doubt he would have been found guilty, but I feel he deserved to be tortured instead of put to death by lethal injection, or in this case shot.

I'm a person of science, and would have loved for us (Americans) to bring his body back over seas for more research, tests.

It would have been better if they had captured him to question him about his organization but they had their chance and they needed to take action against him.

 

Throw out innocent until proven guilty, a fair and speedy trial, right to an attorney. Okay. You killed Jesus. Guilty. Dead.

The desires of the US (Obama) can not be known, so you really can not assume that.

True. I am more annoyed at Obama and his opinions about the matter and the speech he gave. Calling those who were celebrating Osama's death true patriots was dumb too. Its all just political bullshit so he gets reelected.

All of this could have never happened. Proof is not something I really care about at this point.

 

It was stated on national TV here that he was openly attempting to surrender and they basically executed him on the spot?

I won't bother going into all the conspiracy theories, but there is NO WAY IN HELL that he would have been able to stay alive for almost 10 years after 9/11 unless the US (as well as other governments) wanted it that way.

 

As others said, it wasn't an execution, they broke into the compound, faced resistance and subdued him, gunfighting and with hostages as "meat shields"

Did he deserve a fair trial? Maybe.
Did he get one? No.
