In the end, it'll be the same ol' popularity contest.

 

People will always vote for staff, regardless of other users. Whats the point of these awards if no one new has a chance / normal users.

We OBVIOUSLY know staff portray these qualities, HENCE THEY ARE STAFF.

I mean comon, think about it.

The awards are pointless and redundant, if it continues the same way.

People will not always vote for staff, they just so happen to vote for their staff because they're hand picked based on they're capabilities, and strong traits they possess; namely the ones awarded at the end of the year.

Everyone gets a fair chance. Staff earn their ranks, and are recognized for it. Normal members, new ones alike strive for such ranks, and they have the exact same opportunities available to them as the staff once did.

To say that the best should be vetoed, for being the best is altogether ridiculous.

Will people be slightly more inclined to vote for staff? Sure, but it's not without good reason. Saying staff should be completely included from a community event that they help run is really just saying, 'Sorry your too good.'

 

Cant be bothered to argue or state why.

Staff being involved will render it useless.

 

I believe the people who have been helpful and active in the community should get recognition, which they mostly do, but I don't believe issuing some form of rank would be the best idea.

If they really have made such an impact that a rank should be given to them, I am pretty certain they would be staff material and would be asked to join the team sooner or later.

 

It should be pretty much like member of the month, same 5 categegories but for the year.
