Getting my Account unbanned? How?

Last year i bought gold off a gold trading site (I know bad idea) but shortly after i stopped playing. Now i want to start playing again but my account again but i cant because this is the email i recieve...

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. Is there anyway for me to get unbanned? I really want to play on this account because though it may not seem like alot it took me a while to level 2 accounts up to 50 and was starting to work on a hunter lol now there just gone.

I really want my account back, idc if they ake the gold or items away it was my first and last offense

 

You can try to email them, but more times then not they won't accept it. Since it's your first offence you might get lucky, keep on trying.

 

I emailed them hopefully they respond with good news, might i try calling them aswell?

 

Sorry if this counts as spamming, but after sending a very apologetic email earlier this morning i just recieved an email from a GM adress saying that my account was compromised and they are letting me change my password. idk if they actually thought it was compromised (I never stated it was) but hey my account isnt permanently banned anymore =]

It was probably compromised. I had the same thing happen. They don't really ban you for gold buying unless you're moving 6+ digits

 

I got that email too when I hadn't played for two years! They told me my account was "compromised" and they unbanned it. I still don't play WoW, but I really think blizzard is doing this to old, unused accounts as some sort of "wiping" system. They permanently ban unused accounts and possibly get a few of the people who call in about it interested in the game again.

Congrats though, you actually reminded me about that email I got a month ago to call customer support and they just now unbanned my account.

 

I actually did the same exact thing. The only downside is the day AFTER I got my account unbanned, it actually had been compromised

 

Wow, that's pretty lame. I don't think that mine was compromised because I hadn't been on it in years and no one ever changed the password.

Was your password changed when it was "banned" or was it still the same? I don't want the same thing happening to me... plan on maybe playing starcraft on that battle.net account
