    U.S army as foreigner?

So yeah, tittle is clear, is it possible to join U.S army (more accurate marine corps, if not them, then what branch?) while being foreigner? I hear'd you need green card, but I doubt they will give me one if I say I want to join army? Thanks.

Once you get citizenship in the country, however long that takes, I don't see why not?

12-15 months with an application, assuming there are no delays and such.

    U.S army as foreigner?

Stuff like that is never an easy process >_<

If you wanted to join the army I don't see why they would refuse/drag out the process; why stop someone wanting to serve the country?

There must be tons of people in the army who are foreigners.

    U.S army as foreigner?

    Found this off Google:

Question: Can a non-U.S. Citizen join the United States Military?

Answer: Yes. A non-citizen can enlist in the military.

However, federal law prohibits non-citizens from becoming commission or warrant officers.
In order for a non-citizen to enlist in the military, he/she must first be a legal immigrant (with a green card), permamently residing in the United States. It's important to note that the military cannot and will not assist in the immigration process. One must immigrate first, using normal immigration quotas and procedures, and -- once they've established an address in the United States -- they can find a recruiter's office and apply for enlistment.

    U.S army as foreigner?

Nope, you need US citizenship, or legal residency in the United States to enlist in the Marine Corps. Also a little tip never refer to the Marines as the army.

    U.S army as foreigner?

All the branches of service are referred to the US Armed Forces or the Military. The Army and Marine Corps are two completely separate branches and those in the Marines dislike people saying they're in the army or asking if they are. I know this because I myself am a Marine.

More or less, you can contact a recruiter before hand too.
He will explain the entire process to you.
Just be ready for the hell of Boot Camp when you do enlist

    U.S army as foreigner?

No. You will spend the majority of your time doing stupid pointless things and getting smoked because of dumbasses in your platoon. As long as you meet the minimum physical requirements and push yourself to be the best you possibly can, your bootcamp will not only be a very rewarding experience, but also a huge confidence booster. There are a lot more things that are far more painful and difficult than bootcamp.
