About Me
Hello Sythe! My name is Marshall, and I am a high school student in San Diego, California. My hobbies include Football, Wrestling, Writing, Singing, Acting, Reading, Programming, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Working Out, Playing Video Games, and (of course) Sything. I have been on this site since late spring 2010, though I had been browsing for about 6 months before then. I first joined for the Runescape market section, and was looking forward to purchasing Runescape items. After being scammed my first time for $10, I decided to move from the market section to other areas of the site for a while. Earlier this year (2011), I took interest in the User Education section (now Community Support). I made a couple guides, and decided that I wanted to be a part of the Community Support Team.

Why I Would Make a Good Community Support Assistant
I am very active on Sythe, and I always practice proper grammar and politeness in all of my posts. I have a real desire to help others, and to spread my knowledge to people who may need it. I am very personable, and I almost always will go out of my way to help others. In real life, my friends always know that I am the man to be counted on, and I am always their listening ear/shoulder to cry on whenever they need help. I believe that Sythe is a very unique community, and I want to do whatever I can to spur Sythe to becoming even better.

Personally, I think the guide kind of only embraces one aspect of quitting. To me, whenever I try to avoid the temptation of something, I find that I am always more likely to fall into it if I am unoccupied at home. One key thing to do is to get involved in other things. Not only will they keep you occupied and keep your mind away from temptation, but getting involved in rewarding things like sports will help produce dopamine in your brain. That way you are replacing the dopamine that you are taking away.

I can vouch for the diet portion of this, I have been a wrestler for years and the #1 thing that I had to worry about was diet. Even as a wrestler, during weeks when I had to cut 8 POUNDS in three days (I have done this), my coaches told me never to starve myself. Food is necessary, as it does (as said above) build your muscles. Also, your body burns calories in this order: Sugar (carbohydrates), protein, and fat.
Wheat bread is better than white because it is a complex carbohydrate. Simple carbs, like sugar and white bread, are used very fast. When you run out of starch/sugar energy, you A) become tired, and B) your body begins to burn protein for energy. As he said above, protein builds muscle. In fact, protein is the most common molecule in muscles (excluding water of course).

Drinking huge amounts of water is important because you will sweat when you exercise. If you are trying to lose weight, the easiest way to cut a few pounds is through losing water weight. Apples are a good snack food because they contain lots of water.

I would tell her because, if she is knowingly flirting with you while she has a boyfriend, it appears to me as if she is waiting for you to make the first move. She may be comfortable to stay in that situation for a while, and that's not really what you want (it hurts, I know). If you tell her, at least you make your feelings known and she knows that, if something happens with her and her boyfriend, she won't be alone.

Is quitting Runescape what caused you to become unmotivated?
In my experience, when you quit something that you really are attached to, you must have something to replace it. Try picking up a musical instrument (like Tiger said), or maybe trying out for a sport.
Or, you could find yourself a goal and strive for it, to make your job worthwhile. Like buying a car, etc.

I have been wondering for a very long time as to whether selling Runescape items/gold was legal or not, so I did a bunch of research over 3 months and found out the answer.
After 3 months of research on this, the short and long of it is that "illegal" is the improper term for it. It is not in violation of any real world laws, such as intellectual property or copyrights. Because the items never leave RS, and Jagex states in their TOS/EULA/PP that "all items are the property of Jagex," the items are never really transfering in ownership. No matter who is using the item at the time, it still belongs to Jagex. So you cannot be held responsible for selling their property or said to be breaking the law, because you are not selling the item itself, only the license to use it, which you have rightfully acquired by playing their game.
Unfortunately, just because it is not illegal does not mean you can't be prosecuted. Jagex states in their TOS that they have the right to prosecute should they feel that they "suffer any loss or damage from the breach of their contract." Gold farming breaks their TOS (and their EULA and PP I'm sure), so if they could present in court acceptable evidence that could prove they have suffered loss or damage from your business, you could be sued.

Hmm, maybe that analogy was a bit unclear, but the point is, the people that post in the Personal Support forum are looking for genuine help from genuine people. Sometimes it takes a great deal of effort for them to put themselves out there to tell their problems to people they don't even know. We at Sythe should respect their feelings and give them the sanctity of a forum where they know that their problems will be responded with real solutions, not mindless trash.

I like your guides, but I'd love to see a more extensive and applied knowledge from what you know into them.

It would be great to have more activity in CS section

I'd go with both

Write 1 more, a big guide, very well organized, with pictures, titles and everything, good grammar. It would help a lot towards your application. Then just make the ones you have, extras

I definitely think you've got something good here.
Your thread layout is easy on the eyes, and down to the point.
As for your guides, they are informative, and in-depth.
If you do feel like changing one thing on your application, try having a fiddle around with the text font, try to spruce that up a bit.
If I could suggest one thing about you in general, try to get out into the forums more, make yourself more widely known, it will help you immensely, good luck.
