"Thread Resolved" Option in Thread options

Why? I think it would make Sythe less cluttered with the questions being answered multiple times within the same thread.

Sometimes I come across a thread asking a question that had been answered days ago, just people eager to get post count, bumping it back up with needless comments.

I'd support something like this. An inordinate number of people file reports/PM moderators asking for their threads to be closed. I'm guessing this would reduce that number/save us time.

That's why it would be for 250+ PC members, and I think I'd make it for donators if it causes to much spam.

I just don't like giving that much power away to people. Even the ability to close threads is a good deal of power. Let me just say that I DON'T want to give it to the top 100 posters, or anyone with 250 posts, or something; if it was to be implemented, all people should have to ability to only close their own threads and only their own threads.

Maybe it should be in place in the market, since it's obvious when an offer is closed. I don't support it being implemented in discussion-based forums like OT or RS.

All it does by the looks of it is put "[Resolved]" in the title... It's not really a staff power and this would be well suited in the community support section.

    Totally support.
I don't see any sides of harm that it could cause and so for no reasons why not to add it. ;)

Ahh dude i think you mis-understood.
The option of 'Mark thread as resolved' is ONLY available by the Thread Creator (OP).
Thus they can only close ('Mark as resolved') their own threads.
I hope that clears it up for ya.

Also if you look at the link to the official vBulletin forum i posted with the mod i'm talking about, you can see all the options you can change with this feature.

I support, on the basis of what others have already stated; regarding it's for OP only.

I can see where KerokeroCola is coming from, being against it if there is a lengthy discussion going on. But IMO it should be down to the OP's discretion whether s/he sees fit if their topic has been 'resolved' or not.

He means that the thread creator can close his own threads only :p

I support this 110%, it would definitely stop the threads with 10+ posts of the same thing.

This would be so beneficial for the Community Support section. Full support, but I think there could be room for tweaking of the original suggestion.

    I support.
It would be nice to be able to close your own thread, or just tell people that the issue has been resolved...

happens to much, where you read a thread.. then you get to the last post, and they just say "sold" or "out of stock"..

    just wanna strangle someone :p

I've seen many situations on Sythe where this would have solved the problem in the first place.

I support. Would be useful in the markets too. People can use this to tell when they have already bought/sell something they were buying/selling.

The OP will "forget" to mark as resolved.
And when I see someone ask a question like
    "What are the staker worlds"
And I see like 5 posts with the answer, I report the thread as "answered"
And it gets dealt with properly.

I support this, I can see how it would make things less confusing, prevent 50 people posting the exact same answer. If you ask me I think it would make things a lot better for staff and members in general.

"Thread Resolved" Option in Thread options

To be honest, in adding this option you wouldn't even have to have the thread be locked after it is 'Resolved.' I feel that leaving it unlocked would still discourage spam and allow for the otherwise normal functionality of the thread.
