What is the purpose of our existance?

I don't think anyone would be able to accurately answer this question. Why does anything exist. Why is there something rather then nothing, and why did it turn out this way.

Your purpose is to find a purpose. Decide what you want to do; be famous, be religious or live as a commoner.

Sadly, this is my stance on online arguments now.

That's ironic since a very small percentage actually fulfill that 'purpose' and it's only in the past few centuries that a majority of people would be doing that.

I bet there are a billion people in the world ready to rage at you, there's an entire field of study called Philosophy that takes aim at your logic.

That's just stupid.

My personal view on the purpose of life is coloured if not dictated by religion (no I'm not one of those types of loonies), seeing as though many of you don't 'subscribe' to the same doctrines that I do I'll leave it at that.

 

Since I'm religious (muslim) I believe this life's a test, so make the best of it.

 

I'd say in my opinion, backed with science.. We are here to reproduce and keep the human race alive.
Also we are to develop technology to improve future life quality.

What is classified as a working member of society changes over time.

Whether it be a good member, or a bad member everyone is a member.

A beggar is a working member of society, without homeless people and poor people, government money would be allocated elsewhere, thus changing society completely.

African countries have working members of society, if there were no countries requiring humanitarian aid, genocide cases like Rwanda wouldn't pop up nearly as much, and the billions if not trillions could be spent on the humanitarians own countries bolstering the quality of life.

My said 'purpose' if there is one of existence is intentionally exceptionally vague. Because I do not believe there is a solid purpose in life, however I didn't bring it up initially but reproduction is also is an essential part of life.

It's not ironic at all, 99.99% of all people in the world ever born would have fulfilled to be a working member of society. Whether it be cavemen banding together in tribes to hunt, slaves working for their masters, soldiers fighting for their lords, the list goes on. List me people that are not working members of society, and contribute to society in NO WAY AT ALL.

 

Isn't it kind of an individual thing? Your purpose can be whatever you want it to be?

Reading your question and what you have said, I come to the conclusion of the following;

“It is when you come to understand the creator of all things, only then can you come to understand the purpose of life.”

In today’s society, we are living our life - where death is not really a big deal and also it’s not really something people would want to remember or talk about.
Stop for a moment and analyse, the way this world is heading today and you will come to realise.
You will see the gravity of it all, where “mind control” is of the most “dangerous” force in its existence. I’m not talking of the greatness good of any religion following, but rather of that in which secret societies’ that one may come to understand is paving the way of our thinking and actions of today’s world.
Even if you think you have free choice and free will to the actions you are doing, you are greatly mistaken. How you think and react to the worldly things you posses and the position you may be in life, it’s all for a purpose.
You must come to the understanding, no human being has a “Guarantee” of anything of this world, and nor shall anyone be able to “Guarantee” someone something (i.e. healthy one day and another day your ill/dying, rich today and poverty tomorrow).
Regarding, the positions of great/famous people, was there not a great emperor of china – who wanted to live forever? This has come to him after his success and realising the fact, its all for nothing. He came to understand this, when there was no human being that could help him live longer or forever as he wanted.
Death is of the utmost factor of such questions like this. For it’s the remembrance of death, should you come to realise the reality of this world. Therefore the “mind control” in which I talk about, has to do with the fact. Where we have people living in the developed countries “mostly”, where they think “death” will not touch upon them. The job of the secret society that I mention about, are of those that keep you away from such thinking and to make you feel you’re a god yourself and have a power that’s of those before us (i.e. we are superior to the history of mankind, because we can live longer now etc.)

I know my answer is not quite finished, but that’s my quick view on this topic.

Regarding to the person that mentions evolution,
Please give me the answer to “death” from the manual of the evolution theory?, what happens, after death? Etc.

Keywords:

“Secret society” you may replace that word with words such as “developed countries”, “leading countries of the world”, “people who have control of the media” etc.

“Religion”, am only talking about the religions that are truly “monotheism”.

"Evolution", Darwin or natural selection, i just don't understand why a human would believe a theory such as this, when there is other stuff with facts.

Life has just as much purpose as you attribute to it.

 

I'm bored of day to day routine. If I can't make into the Navy Seals then I really don't see much of a purpose to live my life with out doing something important.

 

Maybe this is a god damn big role game that some higher force plays online up there. Nah, no idea really. Everything just can't be explained.

 

I think we're here for a purpose. I don't have a religion per say, but I think that one day, all of our lives added up will have meant something. I'm not sure what. But I think there's a big picture here. A HUUGE picture..One that no one can see, just yet. But maybe (I most likely am) I'm wrong. Maybe we're just evolved forms of life, having no purpose. :\ No one will know.

 

Hi. when we look for the purpose of worship, we have to look into man. Allah created us to worship him, because we need to worship him. It is something he has given us as a means of benefiting ourselves. We are the ones who benefit from it. Worship has been established, fundamentally for the growth, the spiritual growth of man. This growth takes place through the remembrance of Allah, our God, our creator, The ONE who has our eternal fate.That's why we shouldn't be arrogant at all. we should realize how poor are we in front of him.

 

Well it depends on what view you take on life. There's realistic views (pessimistic) and there are religious views (optimistic)

If you look at it from the realistic way, basically we are a mistake and are parasites of the earth that just know how to use resources and be tech savy. There is no purpose except the purposes we choose.
