A piece of nostalgia lost in modern times...

Hey, I just decided to post this up because it caught my attention again after I had forgotten about it. Now, with all these graphical updates, more and more bits of old runescape(rs2, in this case) are slowly fading away.

For a while, the gnomes still had the old looks and I'd occasionally chat with them just for the nostalgia. Now that they've gotten updated, it's just a little saddening, I guess, to see old things switched over to new.

Anyways, let me get to the pic now.

This is what I took while I was looking for a penguin with a friend. It's a picture of The Shaikahan, the lion thing from the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest. Keep in mind that this was taken with the lowest settings, except it's still obviously extremely old graphics, no matter what settings you're on.

The lion is not changed since its creation, it is in old graphics, not very much stuff has been left with the old graphics since the HD creation.

Well I ran into again while I was searching for a penguin and it attacked me, that's why I took a closer look and remembered it from long ago and how old it's graphics still are.

Thank you. Yeah, it took me quite a while to achieve since I was trying to keep combat to a minimum inside dungeons while at the same time I was expected to help at my combat level, so I usually maged(so only hp would be the levelling factor). I also didn't get a shadow hood til the mid 90's, which helped me find some decent teams the rest of the way.

Love quests in general, and it's always nice to look back at quests you did long ago and still see a piece of it that has barely been touched, if at all.

That would be nice, actually. There are a couple of other bits that are untouched, maybe we all could go around and keep a watch on them(usually it's chat-heads that are more noticeable. :love:

Thank you Wer, for clarifying what I was referring to. Apart from the little touch it received in high detail(which all things have a little like shading done at least), it pretty much is one of the few things that is the same as it has been for years.

I think I'll update the picture and put a box around the actual part that I was trying to describe.

It's not necessarily the fact that I hate the new updates as I actually like a fair amount of them, it's just both nice and saddening to see changes made to things you've 'grown up' with.

It's like in real life(if you had a fun childhood at least). You may go by the place(s) you grew up at, occasionally, and maybe even stop to just look back on the great moments you had there/had in general. No matter how much things 'change for the better' and you may enjoy where you're headed, there's always an attachment to the good things that happened in the past, as well.

That right there is where nostalgia comes into play. :love:

 

The First time I saw that I was shitting my pants. Good old memories. Anyways, I couldn't kill him at that time. Might try it.

 

Burthope games room looks pretty old imo. Its so big, ugly, empty and creepy...
Also, the ships also were never updated if I'm right. or at least not much

 

Lol, nice to see some others express their...happiness.

Btw, I think the only way to harm it still is if you have a spear with karambwan poison on it.

I'll have to take a look again as I don't think I usually 'observe' ships. I think the games room does still look creepy, especially as it hardly is used nowadays, though.
