    Oh man...

So we have a cat, Johnny.
Had him for a good 6months now.

We lived in an apartment complex, and moved 2months ago.
They do NOT know about the cat (Same owners, different complex)
They stated in the papers, if any animals found, eviction will happen.

We got a letter saying if we don't get rid of the cat in 3 days, we will get evicted.

So we were going to give away to someone near us, but they are all druggies and our cat is too sweet to deal with that shit.

So my fiancee, Angela, is going to drive to Orange County, were her mother is, and drop the cat off.

Thing is, OC is a good 12hours away. And I called my boss, and she won't give me time off to do it , so Angela has to do it.

Man.. I fucking love my cat so much   :'( :'( :'(

The apartment complex people had to come to our apartment TWICE to fix things, and not once have they noticed we had a cat.

    Some idiots tattled on us.

    Oh man...

Before you do anything, remember that the owners of the complex are just people. Meet with them in person and discuss why you should be able to keep your cat. State that you are a loyal customer (assuming you pay your rent in time?) and that the cat poses no sanitary problems. This same tactic works with many different organizations.. in fact I can teach you how to remove annual fees and cut the interest rate on your credit card in half with a few phone calls :) (assuming it's at like 20-30%)

    Oh man...

    worth the shot

    However, expected response

"well if we let you keep your cat than mrs. jones will want to get a kitten herself. Then Mr. Smith has really wanted a new puppy. And if anyone else isn't allowed permission it's going to be some huge thing because some people have them."

    Good luck though =)

    Oh man...

Dude I hate people who tattle on you and live on your block/complex.

Some guy told on my family because we had extra plants in front of our house, like what a no life.

I've never had a pet so I don't really know what it's like to get attached to one, but I'm glad you didn't put it in the pound :)

    Oh man...

I can't try to haggle them.
I fear they will say "Since you breached your contract at the old complex, and you're in breach now, you will just be evicted"
As I can't get evicted, I live next door to where I work, and Angela works down the street(1-2 blocks away)

But yea, they will also say the whole thing about other people wanting animals.

I hate cats, I'm allergic to them, but Johnny is different :(

Ow that sucks, you could use a medical excuse such as an 'anxiety' animal.

    Oh man...

Normally, landlords expect you to confront them before getting (or, very shortly after getting) an animal that is against the rules. This is the case even if the animal is a disability-services animal.

Honestly, man, rules are rules. They don't like cats because it decreases the value of their property. You broke the rules, but that's life. Next time, pay $50 more a month for a pet-friendly apartment? The extra cost covers the inevitable carpet, wall, etc. damage that pets bring. Maybe when you are able to move, you can take Johnny back from your fiancee's parents?

I feel for you losing the cat, though. :(

    Oh man...

That's awful man :( My complex welcomes small animals which is why I don't understand those rules..

Neighbors shouldn't be doing that to eachother either, but just hope for the best. I doubt they'll evict you for having a cat though, losing a pet sucks :(

    Oh man...

    What Ker said

Yea, they would have expected us to see the landlord PRIOR to getting the little man. And I pay 695/month for a 2bdroom place.
I WAS paying 665/month for a small ass studio, my current place is 4x bigger than the studio. There is nothing like what I have, anywhere else.
And yea, when we do move to a pet friendly place (if ever) we are going to steal him back.

I love him! And I live in Humboldt County, my family, and her family, live in/near Orange County.

Most of our neighbors knew of Johnny, some even came over and played with him. He used to lay in the back window (facing the street) which is what I think we screwed up.

I hate cats! I just love my Johnny :p

    Oh man...

Not to be mean, but cat urine is so acidic that if it urinates on carpet it will seep through and the sub-floor will be damaged in time. This is why complexes will not allow cats but most allow dogs. I hope all goes well with getting the cat to a new home and although it stinks you cant keep your car at your house I hope what I mentioned about(the one and only reason you would not be able to own a cat in a complex, unless its a furnished condo) helps you understand the landlords point of view.
