Hey all and welcome to my small (Ish) Guide to getting fast Crimson charms!

First off. The requirements for this method are fairly steep. But I can assure you, it's cheaper than Rock Lobsters and won't require a Steel Titan!

Secondly, this will NOT involve Waterfiends, Rock Lobsters, or even Scabarites.

What it will involve, is Skeletal Wyverns.

Skeletal Wyverns...? Don't be STUPID. No one kills those because they just hit too hard and take years to kill?!

    WRONG!

I personally used this method to finish off 99 Summoning. And at that time I was 50 defence!

So, a quick list of requirements, along with a few nice things to have.

For a start, you will need 72 Slayer. If you don't have this, don't go near them until you do

For the Unicorn method, 70 prayer is a must. For the Pack Yak method, 95 Prayer is a DEFINATE.

As you might've guessed, for the Unicorn method you will need 88 Summoning, and for the Pack Yak method you'll need 96.

A high attack and strength is a must, as Wyverns do have pretty high defence.

A decent stack of cash is good to have, as you will be using a cannon! Without it, expect to get around half the charms you would with it.

An Enhanced Excalibur is nice if you don't have Soul Split, but isn't required.

A Fairy Tale part 3 is helpful, as there is a fairy ring right near these. Otherwise, carry the Dramen Staff!

Extreme/Overload potions again are nice, but it's fine without.

A high Dungeoneering level (Along with the rewards that go along with it) Will be nice, but it's not required. More on this further below...

    THE METHOD!

First of all, you'll have to dress properly. Many people believe that Wyverns will hit a lot with their magic attack. But the simple truth is, they don't have one! The only hits you will be taking are from their breath attack (Which is it's own class of attack and won't be affected by magic defence OR prayer), and their ranged attack. They do have a melee attack but honestly it hits zero's near enough every time.

So, with that in mind, I suggest you dress yourself in a set that'll simply keep your prayer bonus high.

    Here's what I wore:

    Berserker helm /Veracs helm
    Amulet of Fury
    Proselyte Plate + Legs
Fire Cape (I'd expect a Soul Wars cape to help more here!)
    Blessed spirit sheild
    Dragon boots
'Barrows' Gloves (No better alternative really )
    Berserker Ring
    Rapier/Whip

Feel free to adjust this slightly, however don't make the mistake of wearing Dragonhide/Karils. IT WON'T HELP!

Your prayer should be set to Turmoil or Piety. Nothing else. No protect prayers, again it won't help!

Your inventory will be fairly simple. I bring enough Super Attack and Strength to last me through one Familiar pouch. I repot every 10 minutes, so that's 6 doses for a Pack Yak, and 5 doses for a Unicorn.

A weapon with a good special attack should be carried. The only two recommendations I can really make here are a DDP++, or an Enhanced Excalibur. I'm sure you all know what advantages both of these give, so that doesn't need explaining.

Whatever familiar you're using, bring around 200 of it's corresponding scrolls. More on that soon!

I usually bring 12 Prayer Potion (4), with which I keep my Turmoil prayer going. A Holy wrench is nice too if you've got it!

Cannonballs and the Cannon itself should be taken too of course.

Oh, and don't forget a teleport out!

Now, a quick bit about familiars. As mentioned before, the only two Familiars I recommend using are Pack Yaks, and Unicorn Stallions.

The Pack Yak is the preferred familiar, as you can bank all of the Wyvern bones using it's scroll, PLUS you can fill it up with 'emergency' food! The downside to this is the obvious 96 Summoning requirement, coupled with the less obvious 95 Prayer requirement. You WILL need Soul Split if you want to use Pack Yaks!

If you are using a Yak, summon it at Zanaris bank and fill it up with Monkfish, before beginning your trip.

The Unicorn Stallion is the next (And only other) Familiar I recommend. I'm sure you all know why this is a fantastic familiar! The downside to this is that you can't really bank many of the bones (Which have a pretty nice G.E Price), so you are basically relying on 'rare' drops for profit, which could never happen

Also, remember to have your left-click option on the Summoning icon to Special Move, no matter what familiar you use.

    Phew, almost done

So you want to give this a go! Great

Start at Zanaris bank. Withdraw your inventory, and (If applicable) Fill your Yak up with food. Run towards the Fairy Ring, and use the Summoning obelisk. Take the Fairy ring using the code AIQ. Run north, and use the Altar there if needed. Now run to the top of the cliff with a (!) Symbol on it. Climb down the ladder, follow the tunnel to the Ice Giants and Warriors, and enter the cave to the south. Ignore the warnings, and as soon as you're through, head as far west as you can. Set your cannon up in the centre of the western section of the cave, slightly to the north to stop it attacking Wyverns towards the east. Turn Turmoil (Or Piety) on, along with Auto Retaliate, and get attacking!

Now, for Pack Yak users, you will have to 'Flash' your Soul Split prayer. For those that don't know what that is, you basically have to activate the curse just before your weapon swings, and then quickly turn it off again. It's hard to get right at first, but once you do, you're on for a life of free healing! And also remember to pick up the bones and cast Winter Storage on them.

You will notice that these drop two charms at a time, and almost always Crimsons.

I myself have managed to gather 180 Crimson Charms in an hour of these. And that was WITHOUT Extremes or Chaotics! It's very easy to get 160 Crimsons an hour doing this method, and the bones allow you to break even or even profit very easily. Not to mention the Granite legs and the (Very rare) Visage drop!

A few people have been asking me about costs per hour, and profit, and other such money-subjects. Now, Wyvern drops aren't anything special, so unless your Visage luck is superhuman, don't expect to profit without a Pack Yak.

I personally used anywhere between 1.5k and 2k Cannonballs per hour, and killed around 130-140 Wyverns per hour. That's without Extremes or Chaotics! So if you manage to bank all those bones, that's around 400k profit per hour. Prayer potions and that sort of thing are covered by the small drops

Extremes will obviously speed you up a bit, and aren't very expensive to use, so these are covered by themselves.

The same could possibly be said of Chaotics, as they will only add between 100k and 200k an hour to your cost (I know they're supposed to be 2mil for 10 hours but it rarely works out that much!) And will speed your kills up nicely, so they might pay for themselves too, although I'm not sure on that one.

That's all the information I have right now on costs, but I'll try to update it a bit more in the near future!

Now, a quick bit on Dungeoneering and the reward items from it.

For a start, weapons. All three Chaotic melee weapons will out-perform a whip here, but remember that to hit Wyverns effectively you need either Slash attacks or Crush. This means if you use a Rapier you'll have to slash with it, which doesn't really play to it's advantage. Chaotic Longswords have an epic Slash bonus, and for this reason I recommend using it over the Rapier here. BUT! If you're feeling a bit crazy, the Chaotic Maul WILL outperform the Longsword! I can only recommend this with the Unicorn method, and DEFINATELY would recommend Soulsplit/Turmoil too. It works, but it hurts

There's a few more Dungeoneering items I'd like to discuss too. These are the Bonecrusher, and the Demonhorn Necklace.

The necklace offers +13 prayer, and when combined with the Bonecrusher, will give you two prayer points back along with 50 prayer XP! If you kill around 120 Wyverns per trip, you'll be getting 240 prayer points back 100% for free, which at 95+ prayer is two full prayer potions. If you're Unicorning, this is preferable to the Fury amulet, however if you're Yakking then you'll want to leave these items banked so they don't crush your profit away.

Herbicide is an item that will instantly burn any herb you tell it to, giving you double the XP you would've gotten for cleaning it. Wyverns drop a fair few 'junk' herbs, so feel free to bring this item along if you have it, as free herblore XP is hard to come by!

The Gem Bag, while being the cheapest reward, is a great little tool for grabbing all your gem drops, and Wyverns drop lots of these too. Again, take it along if you want, it's just a bit more free cashback.

    Cheers, Tom.
