    blood drive donation

Hi, I was wondering that if blood drives such as " American Blood Drive " went to a high school, which they went to my highschool. They will ask you questions about your personal info etc : street address, SSN ( Social Security Number ). Is this like considered safe or not?

IT is safe but before you donate take this into consideration. Blood drives are making ALOT of money off of you. They sell your blood they dont donate it. they donate it for a cost.

Your school wouldn't allow an organization to collect personal information in your school if it wasn't a legitimate organization.

Never have donated, I know it's safe but I wouldn't trust my highschool that they were actually donating it without a fee which completely ruins the point of charity for all..

I don't like giving out blood unless it is absolutely necessary. It is true that these institutions make alot of money out of blood donors and even patent certain dna/blood cells that have unique mutations in them that prevent/fight against certain diseases.

Even if they make any money off of it, people shouldn't stop donating blood because of that. Healthy people can regenerate the blood so its not really a loss for them. The blood will still help people, and if everyone had that mentality people would die because there would be no blood donations. Its like the red cross.. yes they don't give all of the money they receive by donations to the people who need help, but what they give still helps. Something is better then nothing at all.

Blood drives are great! Especially for men with high levels of iron.

yes they are doing this to put you in their system so if something goes wrong like if u lied and had aids when they test ur blood they can mark it down then they will get back to u telling u this and if u try to donate again they will know basically the whole reason they take all this information is to make sure the people that shouldn't be donating blood aren't donating
