Horrible Lagging

I'm wondering if any of you guys know why I'm getting horrible lags when I play. I'm using an almost brand new macbook pro and it's like I'm playing on a 20 year old piece of shite pc...I can barely move without it loading.

Anybody know why this is and how to fix it?

 

Is your java updated?
Are you playing in a low-ping world? (The nearest to your location, the lower, the better)
Have you checked RAM and CPU usage?

We need more information to be able to help you...

 

I'm assuming that because it is an almost brand new computer those shouldn't really be an issue. Assuming you aren't downloading massive amounts of files at once etc.

Try running a virus scan to see if you got any malicious software on your computer.

 

Maybe there are ghost clients if the bot failed. Memory leak, or the script is a netbot. Who knows, it's always worth the check when is running :idea:

 

I'm playing in a U.S world and all the pings say N/A. I don't know how to check that other stuff

 

Well, if everything else fails, you could just play on the lowest graphics.

 

Yeah, try playing in low detail. Also, try to lower your graphics options on the game as well. Tell us if that works.

 

And I'm using safari if that matters.

 

How do you lower the graphics?

 

The servers have been going up and down for me lately, but I think you might have an outdated java version.

 

its not you.its the servers.everyones been lagging today.

 

RuneScape has recently gotten back tens of thousands of players with old wildy and free trade, commencing more lag. Sucks but have to deal with it.

 

Try holding s while it's checking for updates

 

i cant play rs through the browser on my mac as well. download swiftfit for mac, should solve your problems.

 

By the sounds of you're using an old version of Java.

Or you have bought an incredible PC with a horrible graphics card.

 

Get a pc and update your Java.

 

I own a macbook pro also, how're you playing in safari without it crashing mate? This might be your issue... I can't play runescape on safari.

I use the mac swift kit and it works perfect. Try using swift kit maybe you'll notice a difference?

 

Make your graphic settings in-game to a minimum this usually helps me.

 

Click on options, the little hammer and wrench at the bottom.



Then click on options for changing your graphics settings, the computer screen.



Click on Min (Minimum), and then click on custom.



After that, you can lower your graphics options on this screen below:

Make sure your connection is free too. Stuff like torrents, Hulu, Youtube can cause extra lag.
