    HELP! Trojan horse!

    Hey, so today my runescape account was hacked and 170M was gone. A hacker communicated me through my computer (windows 7) he had full control of my computer and could close/open things. He was demanding passwords and was threatening to mess up my computer. I have removed it from the network and put it into safe mode. Help!

    You should install malwarebytes and update/get a better antivirus.

    Try downloading things from other PC and use a USB, don't connect to the internet with that PC until is safe.

    Check the firewall rules and block anything unknown.

    HELP! Trojan horse!

    Do you think the free version of malwarebites would suffice? and I have norton anti-virus. I could restore to factory setting? or could the hacker of corrupted that file so when I restore my PC is still infected? Thanks.

    Free version will do it.

    I've haven't used Norton like in 6 years. But I can assure AVG Free version with good settings will get most malware.

    Add me in msn if you need more help.

    HELP! Trojan horse!

    I can assure you it will stop ALL malware, it won't even allow the hacker to log you out of runescape.

    Download Malwarebytes like The Black Tux said. Also, for extra protection, download Comodo firewall. It tells you anything that tries to send information or receive information from your computer.

    Honestly, if someone already has control of your computer, then your only option is to either reformat your hard drive or manually remove the rat. Since you probably cannot do the latter, you should definitely reformat your hard drive.

    Any of the suggestions above will help to protect your computer from any future problems. In the end though, just don't click on any suspicious links or downloads. If you feel it is suspicious and Norton says otherwise, don't listen to Norton.

    HELP! Trojan horse!

    Not exactly, blink will terminate it immediatly, just download it, disconnect your infected machine from the interwebs, and let'r rip. *shakes head*.

    &&

    comodo can be terminated/manipulated remotely and has some nasty BoFs. If you use it you're walking on thin glass. =x Not long ago (couple weeks?) using comodo to recruit for botnets was 'the next big thing'.
