Can you link me to a url where microsoft says they will be doing this? I remember them claiming something similar like a year or two ago, thanks.

 

You can call microsoft yourself and ask them. There is no official url to microsoft saying they are reseting the tags. There was a video about it on the Xbox 360 dashboard though. Not sure if its there any more.

what I don't user stand is how you say a gamer tag for example: R abbit will be able to become rabbit and say u n i c o r n become unicorn. what about the person with r a b b i t won't they too be able to get rabbit? I don't understand lol

 

Microsoft is reseting gamertags that are from the xbox original console. Which are still on xbox live for the box 360. Therefore most people that had an xbox original they took most of the good "original" gamertags. So most of the people that took the original gamertags don't play xbox 360 therefore Microsoft is deleting them so than they become available again. BUT, there was a little glitch a while back where you could make a gamertag spaced out and if you did that you would be guaranteed to get the unspaced tag. That is once that specific tag gets reset.

There you go explained. If yo don't understand that than you may as well not be buying a gamertag.

 

I think what RJs is asking is what if theres two spaced out versions of the same tag like R abbit and R a b b i t. How can you be guaranteed the other spaced out tag wont get Rabbit first. You cant guarantee it. Not tryna argue just wanted to show you his point that you missed.

 

There can only be one spaced out version.

 

Alright, well here is how it is. There can be only ONE version spaced out. Doesn't matter if it's u n i c o r n, u nicorn, uNICOR n, or any other variation with a space in the tag. If you have the gamertag with/without the space, it's yours to keep.
