and why do you think I have them in my signature? As if it wouldn't be just as easy to put a photon one. I have it because I prefer them.

Does anybody know how I can close these bot clients?

They won't close at all and I've tried pushing the "X" button and right clicking them and clicking the "close" button, but they won't close at all.

They aren't running any bots either and are kind of like frozen or something.
They were running bots a few weeks ago, but they crashed/errored out and I haven't been able to close them at all and I'm wondering if they are taking a lot of my ram still.

The bot clients that won't close are highlighted in red in this picture below:
The green clients that are highlighted are working just fine.

When I try and open one of the red highlighted bot clients it just has the black screen and no buttons or tabs appear on the client. Like I've said before, they won't close if I right click on them and select the "close" button or if I just push the "X" close button on the top right hand corner of the client.

-If these clients aren't running any bots, are they still taking up a lot of my ram?
-Should I reboot my VPS to solve this problem? (I've never done this before)

I'm using Photon's WARP 4 package btw if that mattered at all.

This happens to me too. Just reboot your VPS. Takes only a second.

To reboot, open up your terminal (Black box at bottom of VPS desktop) and type in "reboot" without the ""

Then wait a few minutes and open Putty (Or whatever you use) and log in. Then type in vncserver to get your VPS back up and running.

You will be all rebooted and good to go.

Usually ~300mb / average bot, and ~650mb / high population bot (ie LRC/SW).

But be sure to keep some wiggle room ;)

Another way to do it without having to restart your VPS is to force kill the program. To do this:

    1. Open up your terminal
    2. Type "ps ux"
    3. Find the client id that you want to kill and type "kill -9 [client id]"

This way is effective for me because I load the clients in order and lets say the fourth one froze... I then look at the time and determine the one that has the fourth highest uptime. I then proceed to kill that client without it affecting my bots.

This method is a bit more advanced and I agree sometimes you can kill the wrong client, but most of the time I get the right one and it saves me headaches of having to reload all my clients up. Another words, if you have 8 clients opened, instead of restarting your entire VPS simply kill that one client that froze and you can keep the rest of the 7 going.

    Hope this helps.

Finally got my VPS working thanks to Seerhost and all of the idiotic questions I sent to their customer support team.

I have a problem though, my RS looks laggy on my VPS, can I change that in anyway, shape, or form?

The slow refresh rate is in order to conserve resources (on your end and ours). The lag you see is between you and the VPS - not the VPS and runescape, so you aren't actually lagging.

Go with PhotonVPS if you are going to use PayPal.

It's the best VPS out there, in my opinion. Many others will agree with me, as well.

I have mine set to 467. Quick question: What does changing the number in run-linux.sh do? Always wondered :)

    Mines at 500.

Seerhost recommends that if you're using the Bronze Plan to edit the number to 500, Silver to 1000, Gold to 1500.

(Even if you don't use Seerhost check the VPS details so that you can get an idea on what to have)

Photon has been very sluggish today, anyone else notice this?

My bots actually lag so bad they automatically log out, which makes for near-impossible botting.. in the process of my second reboot to see if it helps.

Edit: Rebooted twice and it's still lagging terribly, that is if I can even keep a client open for more than a minute.. ugh. Sometimes I don't even know why I bother messing with this anymore.

I don't know if this is the VPS or the bot client but I have also been having problems with my bots today. I've been experiencing unusually low success rate ranging from 30% to 65% when I normally get 85% to 95%. Anyone else having this or know a fix?
