Paypal charge backs

I have the following suggestion which should help sellers who sell virtual items such as rsgp and accounts for paypal.

As you know alot of buyers charge back on paypal, however when the payment is gifted you can only use unauthorized transaction claim.

My idea is as followed:

The paypal e-mail adress of every person that has been banned for paypal scamming / charging back should be placed in a list (sticky) so sellers can check out if the person has scammed before from that e-mail. This is great because ban evaders often keep using the same paypal e-mail to charge back.

The list should contain:
Sythe name
Full name on paypal
Paypal email adress

Pro's:
Taking out alot of scammers

Con's:
Keeping list updated
People can change paypal e-mail

Opinions please? Cheers!

 

That's actually a great idea, they have one for account names, so why not charge backs ;D
I have a pretty decent list I think =p

Makes sense, it would be a quick reference for any of those using PayPal as the issue of charge backs is really getting out of hand. Support!

I really like this idea, I've been chargebacked too much and it's quite annoying. FULL SUPPORT.

 

They say they only have about 400 emails in their database so I don't really think that would be of much use as the internet is a big place, though the concept really is good.

Yeah just a list here on the forums which should be updated frequently.

Support. When I first got charged back I wondered why there wasn't something like this already .

 

This has been suggested like ten times. I've never supported having to waste my time updating such a list because it takes 5 seconds to change your Paypal email. My time is much better spent doing other tasks to prevent scamming. The list on cbfraud.com seems nice, but I think it's silly in the long run. You can submit your chargebacks to them and use their database for checking, but I still think it's all for naught.

However seeing as you can change paypal e-mail, full name etc. would also work since you can't change that.

 

I was thinking that myself but you'd be surprised how dumb and lazy some scammers are. IMO the list would be worth it.

You can change your email address VERY easily on Paypal.

Sounds like a great idea, but I would like to keep it on Sythe only. Put the users profile name - paypal - msn. This would probably help quite a few people out.
