What messed up runescape?

Its a question we all ask.

When did everything head south? Was it when they released godwars?
Hunter? Summoning? Dung?

When did Fagex make there biggest mistake?

I personally hate all these new skills, they take a long ass time to train and there really boring, wtv.

In all seriousness I don't know, I think maybe they're just running out of good ideas, or trying to make the game into something its not.

When free trade was disabled 46% of Runescape's Players went inactive due to the 'idiotic update' as most people say.

 

When free trade was established again.

 

Removing free trade then bringing it back years later

 

Stellar Dawn (or whatever it's called now).

 

putting in the grand exchange and making cb easier to train with soul wars, pc, etc.

 

It's when the new CEO came along a.k.a Mod MMG.

I also think that Runescape was messed up due to the pure essence SMUGGLE as I call it. Quote this if you guys still remember this!

Anyway, the story was, the only fucking reason the limit per 4 hours was changed was because a fairly wealthy beiber bought a SHIT ton of Pure Essense causing this to go up despite having a clan (Multiply 3). He made about 100 GP per essense. Many rumours say he bought 500 million of them which made him a complete Prescott billionare. Honestly, I reckon free trade was removed because of this.

 

Started playing in early 04,and I quit playing in early 08.
1. Removing the wilderness and adding the abomination know as Bounty Hunter.
2. Making skills stupidly easy to train.
3. Grand Exchange (which added people controlling the markets with clan merchants that just scammed their members for the 'leader' to make LOADS of profit)
4. The community.
5. Removing the old graphics.
Also,just some nostalgia things...I missed being able to go to world 2 falador and seeing loads of people selling all in falador literally everywhere,I remember when prices on everything use to run smoothly....rune boots 200k,dmed almost 1m,abyssal whips 2m+...then the grand exchange hit one day a item could be 5k next day you could wake up and it'd be 30k. The game is stupidly boring unless you're rich...just my personal opinion I'm sure lots of people will disagree.

 

Introducing the BH system obviously....

 

Exactly why i left runescape when they removed Free trade & Wilderness, runescape is soooo easy to train and such. Summoning was a big mistake imo.

 

Most probably when they started to mass-ban botters / RWTers.
