Staff Interview: N4n0

Hey guys. For the my next staff interview I decided to interview N4n0 who was just promoted to global moderator this morning. I want to thank N4n0 for being able to do the interview quickly and efficiently. Thanks for reading every one!

How did you find Sythe and why have you stayed several years here?

I first found it back in the day thanks to the old IRC. I was a user of Covey's Eliteswitch and through his clients built in IRC, I learned about sythe. I registered a couple months after and things just went from there.

You left for a fairly long period correct? Why did you decide to come back and become so active?

That is correct. I never really "left" though. I was constantly peeking in and watching how things were going. I initially joined because of the runescape black market. I started off with a small scale skilling/questing/middleman service, and then after the removal of free trade I stopped being as active. After the announcement of free trades return, I figured it was a great time for me to look into getting back into the sythe scene. I opened my MM service back up, as well as a gold shop to make a little extra cash on the side. Shortly after that, I was approached by Verts regarding a position as a Market Mod, and I immediately accepted.

Alright, Some people have been wondering why you donated $1,000 to the site. Why did you do it and what perks have they offered you?

A big reason behind my donation was just to give back to the community that helped me make some cash. That $1k was just a small portion of what I've made over time through my GP shop. Another reason was kind of a challenge I set for myself. I told Nate that I wanted his donator rank (the white phats) and asked him if I was able to match his donation, if he would allow me to use his rank. He said he'd consider it, so at that point it became kind of a goal for me.

Okay, you've mentioned before that your part of the military in Germany. How has that affected your life outside and apart of Sythe?

I'm currently serving in the U.S. Army, and I've been stationed in Germany for a year now. It's been a great experience. I've traveled around Europe a little bit, and I plan on doing some more traveling before I leave. I've learned a lot from the people out here, and I wouldn't change anything about this tour even if I had the chance.

Sounds great! What plans do you have after you get out of the military?

I'm not exactly sure just yet. I plan on going back to school and furthering my education, as well as earning some more Computer Tech certifications.

What degree, if any did you get in college?

I currently don't have a college degree, which is why that's one of my biggest plans.

Alright, now with a few more sythe related questions. If there was one thing you could change about sythe like the staff structure/ community/ or how the site functions what would it be?

If I could change anything, that would be of course to weed out the scammers. I personally have been victim of thousands of dollars worth of paypal charge backs, and it's no fun. As far as the staff structure goes, I'm very happy with it.

I see that you were recently promoted, do you have any other plans for Sythe down the road like possibly becoming an admin?

If that time comes, I obviously wouldn't turn down the opportunity to be among the elite, although with the current admin staff I highly doubt that will happen any time soon. As of right now my current plan is to just continue what I've been doing. Do my best to keep the site clean from Spam, Scam, and Dumbassery, as well as continue to run my OMM service and Gold shop.

Really all I have to say is continue to do the right thing. Don't be another shit bag that I end up dropping the hammer on.

Didnt know you were stationed in germany, but i knew you were on the military, i have only ever traded with you once, i still think your a great guy, you are surely going to be a great Global and OMM, because your highly trustworthy. You are a credit to sythe and you make it a more fun and safe place to trade and talk. Thankyou N4N0

I quite like these interviews. n4n0 grats on global, well deserved!

 

I'm hoping to go through all the globals/admins and (I doubt this will happen) but possibly get to interview Sythe him self. I'm having some troubles though because several staff members aren't on the same time as me or have lost interest in doing an interview.

 

Really like the whole idea of this. Also N4n0 is one of my favorite moderators so this was a nice read. Looking forward for ones in the future. If you need any help let me know and I'll try to help out.

I'm from america but live in germany. It's ok with him posting it though. I don't mind and it reminded me to go back and fix some parts of the interview.
