    Maths help

    So I need some help with some fraction work for maths

    How would work out the following?

    2 + 1
    - -
    5 7 sorry about the weird layout of the fractions!

    Get a common denominator, Do the same to top as you did bottom, and then just add.

    It would be:

    (2x7)/(5x7)+(1x5/7x5)=
    14/35+5/35=19/35

    Maths help

    To multiply fractions do the numerator*numerator and denominator*denominator.
    So: 1/3*1/2=(1*1)/(3*2)=1/6

    To divide fractions, flip one of the fractions upside-down and then do the same process as multiplication.
    So: 1/3 / 3/8 = 1/3*8/3 = (1*8)/(3*3) = 8/9

    Times the bottom fractions then cross multiply, easiest way there is.
