Any Runescapers/Sythers going/gone to any Top Colleges?

wow, why are people even upsetting about him bragging? He's not going there so i don't know why he mentioned it in the first place. I'm actually going to Columbia university, since i already live in the city and it's convenient. it's either that or nyu.

nice guys... i was just wondering... yea now that i look back at my second comment it was pretty stupid to say.. But i wrote it quick because i stated top schools or ivy league and i've never heard of mercy.. but then again its med school so i'm pretty sure he will have a very bright future. I plan on attending UF undergrad and then med school.

And sometimes it can have a correlation with academics...especially ones who are highly ranked etc

 

OP, if you don't mind answering truthfully, how old are you? You come across as very young and naive.

I don't see why you think playing RuneScape has anything to do with the college you go to or how intelligent you are. That honestly has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard.

You also seem to think that unless you go to med school or an Ivy League school you won't have a bright future. That's probably THE dumbest thing I have ever heard. I'm sorry, but with your logic and thinking you will get nowhere at UF, if you even get into UF.

OP, did you know that Bill Gates dropped out of college? If I am not mistaken, he has done pretty well for himself. What about Ben Affleck? Did you know that he dropped out of the University of Vermont? That isn't an ivy league school, but man he has done pretty good in life. You probably haven't heard of this guy, but Dennis Albaugh is a founder of a pesticide company. He is a billionaire and he didn't go to any ivy league school.

What I'm getting at is that you don't need to go an ivy league school to do well, like you seem to believe.

 

Just to give you some advice...

Medical school is not about going to the top college. It is a myth that many pre-meds believe in, but is very false. Name does not carry all that much compared to your gpa and MCAT score.

Honestly it is smart for most people who are planning to go onto medical school to consider debt. If your grades are that good in highschool to get into an ivy/ top college most likely a state school that is still very well ranked could offer you a great scholarship/or even a full boat. It can be extremely silly not to take that opportunity. No one starting out there career really wants to start with the already expected over $100,000 debt from medical school and add on another $100,000+ that has already started collecting interest from college.

I'm not bashing you in any way op. I'm trying to help you out a little bit. I know a great website, pm me if you would like to know it. I have learned A LOT of information from it as I am in college and would love to attend medical school upon graduation .

The college you end up attending ends up having a lot more to do with how much money your family has rather than the extent of your intelligence.

Maybe if you read it more carefully, you would see that I had made no comment stating that people who do not attend a top college will not have a good future. Also I never said you have to attend med school to be successful. I was just CURIOUS as to who on sythe/runescape attends one of those schools.

And the reason why I am so interested in med school is because i WANT to become a doctor, most of the people in my family are. I have plenty of resources to get me through pre-med and into med school.

And about Runescape. The MAJORITY of smart students REALIZE that spending loads of time on a game like runescape is purely and undeniably futile, bringing no benefits in ones life, education, or future. Also, there have been many studies/polls where people who play video games in excess tend to have lower grades and do poorly in school because their mind is preoccupied with the game, and therefore they have less time to think and focus on schoolwork.

-You are entirely correct. Both my sisters are going to med school. One got into Duke for undergrad, but will most likely turn it down for the University of Miami Direct 7 year MD med program... Which will save her heaps of money, over 150,000$..

 

Looking at a computer science degree at MIT, or maybe software engineering. I have a full ride to PennState, though, mind, I play RS very rarely. I do bot though

 

i still got 3 years before i go to university here in canada (i plan on attending McGuill University)

The highschool i am attending now is ranked somewhere in the top 20 schools of the province
