Growing Scam on Sythe... Need to be Fixed

I've been on sythe for quite a long time. Never have I had issues with how it worked, it's markets, etc. etc.

Recently though, it seems that a particular scam has been in circulation on the Membership Upgrade section. It's not a normal scam, where they just take your RSGP and run away. This scam gets your account locked up, and provides a huge hassle not even worth dealing with in order to recover your account.

    The scam:
People sell you an RS upgrade, and then they end up chargebacking the upgrade, making your account go into negative balance. You cannot simply purchase another upgrade to offset it, because they freeze all the options from being able to do so. The only way is to purchase Jcoins, which you pretty much must do with irl money. Now, the reason I use this website is so that I can avoid using irl money to buy upgrades, so it would defeat the purpose.

This is the 2nd time in a row that I have been 'chargebacked' and I know of others who have the same issue. I do not know how to fix this issue, but I think this is a severe problem that should be brought to everyone's attention. Even if you do not go first in the transaction where they give you an upgrade in exchange for RSGP, you can still fall victim for this. And believe me, this really sucks.

I think mods should figure out how to deal with this.

    Thanks for reading.

The only way to stop it is by (1) buying from trusted sellers, and (2) having a MM apply the upgrade. The second one is not guaranteed to help, but it will definitely lower your chances. The biggest way to commit this scam is by using a stolen credit card.

Yea i don't think option #2 would be of any use. As for number 1, I guess that would, but lets face it. How many really "trusted" people are there on the membership upgrade section, let alone the fact that they charge about double of normal people? And how does someone have the balls/stupidity to chargeback people (affecting them irl as well severely)? I mean, I'm a somewhat intelligent guy. I know how to not be scammed and stuff (hence they must provide the upgrade for me first).

PS: How do I report someone haha? I've never had to so I'm not sure how. I'd like to report the person that did this to me.

After the AUS Pin lines got blocked there aren't real shops selling massively, that's why prices have increased and scamming is raising there.

Cant u just use, rs game cards? Once u have the pin to enter, and u enter it; your account is safe, regardless if they charge back.

Not everyone uses these cards, most of the membership is done through Phone/Text anyways.

Because most trusted seller there were used them. There were like 150 lines if I remember?

Each line had many numbers, each number had 3 pins per month.

    Make the math...

When they got blocked, many seller were just done with their business, as there was no longer a way to get free pins.

Now, everyone who sells around here use legit methods.

Do you know why the trusted sellers charge 2x more than the "normal" people? Because 99% of the "normal" people are scammers that lower their prices in order to get more people to buy, to make their scamming easier. Don't base your prices off of what scammers are saying they'll sell for, go by the trusted people.

    Not really.
In the past two months, I've sold over 400 Upgrades.
I have yet to pay a penny for any of them.

Yup, just lost one of my cmb 100+ bots with about a weeks worth of loot on it to this. I don't know if there is a fix that wouldn't screw over legit sellers.

Just another one of those scams we'll have to live with...

There is no sure fix for this. Just another thing where you should only buy from trusted users.

Whenever you buy make sure the person is trusted. Everyone has a different way to analyze if they trust someone though

Try only trading with trusted sellers or someone you know well, and always use a MM for something like that if you think something might happen or the person is not trustworthy enough, although I support the fact that this needs to be checked up on.
