Need a good place/website for computers to run bots on

I'm looking to run about anywhere from 3-10 GFing bots within a month or two, and I only have 1 computer atm, and its the family computer. Specs are:

There a multiple user accounts and when a bot is running people will often switch users and use another user account while it's running, so I've never ran more than one bot.

Thing is, I want a separate computer to run some bots on, specifically for botting. Either that or maybe a VPS i'm not sure..

Which is better? A home owned computer or VPS?

Where do you recommended I get either one of them?

edit: btw i have an extra computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, so i can also just buy towers.

Go with a VPS - you don't know if you'll be gold farming long enough to make your money back with towers. Also, you won't save much because electricity and the extra annoyances.

Check out my sig- exactly what you need

Well, thing is i was also looking for a new computer, and I'm going to have a job soon. I've never used a vps before but I heard that they can shut down your stuff if they want? I'd like to be the one in control. If I run the 450MB bots will that be good for an 8GB computer(DDR3RAM)?

    edit(also i dont pay electricity)

Need a good place/website for computers to run bots on

    What the?
I have a 20 account (rsbot) computer that i built for ~$150 cost to me. $220ish if you buy all of the components.

    EDIT: More info

    Amd Sempron $37
    cheap 4GB ddr3 ram $40
    Motherboard $40
    Graphics card $30
    Case $free
    Hard DRive $free

Of course, I'm not running windows 7 + a bunch of programs, I have this computer running windows XP chopped down to 100mb of ram on startup.
once it uses up all of the available ram it uses virtual memory, that slows them all down a bit... but it's playable with 20 bots + me playing one account legit. (although i've noticed certain pre-made scripts will lock up the computer if i run them, none of my custom ones do though :) )

If I feel frisky at some point... I'll probably switch the computer over to puppy linux too :p

But, then again i have like a bazillion other computers that i dont have the time to keep bots running on XD (including a 6GB system, 3Gb, 3Gb, 2GB, and a ton of 512's)

Also, i've noticed that since i have a real graphics card in every computer... switching some of the bots to openGL graphics mode (In contrast to safe mode) until my GPU goes to 100% helps reduce lag significantly for all bots (most notably those i switched).
Again the lag is just a slightly choppy gameplay, nothing that i couldn't get used to after like the first 45 secs of gameplay.

    EDIT: Even More info...

This computer's processor and GPU are ungodly overclocked, like, 250% stock processing power; (Unlocked core+ 3.5 GHZ!) but i've had 3 processors of this type work just as well. GPU is at max overclock settings for ATI overdrive. (BTW, it's a 512MB card)
add +$20 to get a processor that operates at that on stock speeds :p (and - a week of tweeking lol)
Again I've got similar performance from several computers :p

    I missed this XD

Ok, here's a parts list, but i dont have time to explain how to assemble a computer. (google, or pm me for some more detail)
if you aren't in the US please forgive the lings to newegg and find comparable components elsewhere.

Hard Drive (I had a spare)
    Case (Ditto)
and Operating system (Java works well on puppy linux)
(If you must have windows, "Download" Windows XP somewhere.)

This also doesn't include "Extra" components like mouse, keyboard, monitor, cd drives, ETC. But i have a 16X10 shed loaded with the stuff so i never figure it in.

Personally, Id get a strong computer, and run multiple bots on it. What happens if the VPS is having problems? And then the VPS goes down? Plus, having the computer at home is more...safe. At least I feel it is.

I just run them at home. It's going to cost $5-10 dollars max for electricity, I've checked the past couple bills and they haven't gone up enough to buy another VPS.
I've had 2 and they are good but abuse from other people on the node etc are problems.

    No no no no no

Strong computer = Hundreds, if not thousands of $$
    VPS= $80 monthly, MAX

PhotonVPS has never ever been down for me. Not even for a second. They don't just 'go down.' Photon is a professional business, they aren't going to just let their VPS go down.

How is having a computer more safe? It's actually QUITE the opposite. What if your computer had a RAT? Or a keylogger? Say goodbye to all of your valuables/gold that you botted so hard for. What if your power goes off? No more botting. What if your internet is just acting up? No botting.

Your electricity bill also will go up. Although I very seriously doubt OP pays for his electricity, I'm sure his parents wouldn't appreciate it.

So you see where I'm going with this. A VPS is a much better choice than wasting hundreds, if not 1k+ on a computer for.. botting?

I'll point out that 1K for a botting computer may be a little overblown :)
Again, my $150 system runs 20 bots without issue. for $250 one could be built. for $500 one could be bought.
