Using email address to log in

I was just wondering, now that it has been changed like this for a while, do people actually like it?

Personally, I liked just logging in with my what is now called display name, instead of a long email address. They still could have made it so you could attach an email address, etc., to the account. I just really fail to see the point in changing the log in to email instead of the original account name.

Now before anyone mentions the name change update, I realize that, but I have a few old accounts. I changed my name on one of them, and I still like using the actual name versus an email, even if that actual name doesn't match the display name.

So, what are you opinions or views on it? I guess the biggest reason I don't like it because it forces you to use an email address. Even if you never confirm the email, it's still forever linked to your account because it's the log in.

It does bother me. It is quite annoying to have to type it all in rather than typing in "INSERTNAME"

 

preffered it the old way, think its pointless now

 

old way was better I guess it was just a security measure they took so people wouldn't know peoples logins

Old way was better BUT this offers good security.
NO ONE should ever know your email address that's linked to your account(s).
Originally I was against it, but I only have a few accounts (One with an email login) and it doesn't really bother me, it makes me feel even more protected to be honest.

pointless waste of time really. just makes login in that much more tedious.

 

As stated here, it ensures a safer account. I only have to do this on one of my accounts, and seen as it's logged in the majority of the day botting. I have no complaints.

It's pretty shit for new accounts. Especially if you want to sell them.

 

I dislike typing in the address but now a hacker has to find your login AND password instead of just password which is alright I suppose.

 

It's only a few more keystrokes.

Besides - in most cases, the bot types it in for you anyway lol.
