Pking has become difficult since 2006-2007

Yesterday I pked for the first time since 2006-2007, I used to pked on my main and the most common weapon combo was whip+dds, and the hardest hitting weapon was full Barrow DH. Staying alive was a challenge but the battles were epic and since weapons back then hit roughly 30-35, and my DDS would hit 30-32 rarely people still managed to stay alive. I'd usually eat at 30-35, and there wasn't no god damn d claws, godswords, Korasi, d bolts to one hit me at 50-60 hitpoints. Now, I don't know when to eat it since everybody can hit 35+ and my hitpoints is 76.

Last night, I had a difficult time staying alive, the fights would last 20-30 seconds before someone pull a magical trick out there ass and ko me with 40+ damage. I got D claw once my hp went from 60 to 5 luckily phoenix necklace saved me once, but wait D claws has TWO SPEC I died afterwards while safing. There were fellow rangers hitting constant 30-35+....

My point is over the years, Jagex has increase the damages on weapons and introduced new weapons that can hit far beyond the maximum lifepoints. I'm constantly eating more than fighting, and I believe my experience is to blame since I haven't pk in the wilderness for a long time. I know I've to adapt to situations and the increase in damage over the years but I find it hard knowing people can 2 hit me.

Who's running Jagex? How can Jagex increase damage while keeping lifepoints so minimum? In other games, when damage is increased tremendously, the lifepoints are increase to balance out the weapons.

That's a good thing that it's more challenging.

 

What challenge does increasing weapon damage that has potential to easily ko anyone within 1-2 hits? If anything, it defeats the purpose of becoming a challenge. The only thing challenging is surviving the attack and special of korasi, d claws, godswords, and dark bow. If they don't kill you with their special then they usually run away especially rushers.

Everyone complains but as soon as you grab one of the over powered weapons you start making mad cash

 

AGs= 50mil risk, Claws= 20mil risk, DDS= 20k risk, with more power theres more risk, and korasi is luck based now it was nerfed, I'm lucky to get a 400+ hit weapons are added for challenge, imagine... 5 years without a single new hard hitting weapon. Do you think the RS community would remain this large?

Be happy overloads aren't allowed in wild, otherwise you would be getting 1 hit

Not much skill is involved, I can easily go get some claws and rush people, getting kills every 10 minutes. No skill except clicking the spec bar ...

 

I disagree. I went pking last night for the first time on my main in forever. (99 att, 99 def, 99 hp, 97 str, 79 prayer) Using the same whip and dds combo. I got 6 kills and died twice, I even pked a whip on somebody who was trying to brid. You just gotta get used to it, maybe try again when your stats are higher, or you were just having bad luck.

 

Pking doesn't really involve skill, its luck really.

 

If you don't brid its luck in some part, but if you pk like I do in maxed mage + claws and bandos then it does take a lot more skill, but the rewards are much better, even if your weapon switching it isn't luck it takes timing to know when to eat and when to spec.

 

Ehh, there is a certain level of skill, or at least minor knowledge. Knowing when to eat, spec, safe up before they spec/during spec, knowing how to get out of deep wildy while being attacked without food, etc. Things like that.

I need to get my hitpoints and strength higher other than that I'm almost max pure. Right now my problem is timing and eating because since my hitpoint is only 76 and people my level can ditch out 35+ hits I usually eat at 40 but I don't want to spend my time eating without attacking that creates a momentum for them, and usually recovering becomes impossible.

There's a lot of skill involve pking but there's a lot of luck too. It's 35% skill and 65% luck imo

 

dds still rapes when you catch them in robes.. specially if your in vesta haha.

You just got to keep up to date with the newest OP weapon otherwise you fall behind and become a complainer instead of a winner

 

What someone said before, with more power theres more risk.If they run out to spec you and you just FC them, bb claws/ags/etc.

 

fights now require more coordination and skill, before it was simply a 1-weapon switch.

 

When did they say they nerfed k sword

 

Its more luck based now try it out in pvp, 7/10 times you hit under 400, its a hidden update it was the topic of the day on Runescape rants for a day people were complaining while others were complimenting
