    What is Islam?

Reminder : This has been posted on my PREVIOUS account, I intend to use this account from now on.
    Introduction
Hello! Welcome to my guide on " What is Islam? " I will be going through the basics of Islam and why are Muslim so dedicated?

    What Does Islam Mean?

    1. Islam is Submission to Allah!
To be a Muslim you must submit to Allah by having these intentions and beliefs:
    • All Worship done must be only for the sake of Allah, only.
    • The Qur'an is the Last Holy Book, The only guidance for all Muslims
    • Muhammad {SWT} Is the Last Prophet. Last Prophet
    • To not make partners while worshipping Allah. (Example : Not doing Salah {Prayer} For the sake of Allah but for the sake of a human being. This is called Shirk.)
    • We have to follow the rules of the Hadith and Sunnah

      2. Having Iman {Belief In The Heart}
If you do not have Iman. Then you are truly not a Muslim.

    - "If the Iman of Abu Bakr was weighed against the Iman of the people of the earth, the Iman of Abu Bakr would outweigh the people on earth. " - Credits go to Jannah.org for this statement
There are 6 Pillars Of Iman.

Pillar 1 - Belief in Allah.

Ofcourse, the first pillar of Iman is to believe in the one that created us, the one who created the heavens and the earth's, the one who gives us knowledge and power, the one who gives us food and water. Allah above everything else is the FIRST most important thing.

    Pillar 2 - Belief in Allah's ANGELS.

The Second pillar is believing in Angels. These are examples are what Angels we have.

    - The Gate-keeper of Hell (Maalik) & the keeper of Pradise (Ridwaan)

    - There is the Angel that controls the weather (Mika'eel)

    - There is the Angel that will blow the Trumpet before the Day of Judgement (Israfeel). When the Trumpet is blown.. The sound will come quietly then Gradually get louder. When it is at it's loudest everyone will go Deaf and die.

    - There are Angels with every human being. Two of them write down everything the person does, some tell him to be a good to be a good person and some Angels keep him safe.

    - Allah sent Angels to convey to the Prophets & Messengers the Revelation (Example : Allah sent Jibra'eel (alayhis-salam) to teach Muhammad (SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam) the Qur'an). { Jibra'eel was the closet Angel to Allah)

    - There are Angels who will question 'Who is your Lord?' 'What is your Religion?' And 'Who was your Prophet?' to every person when he/she is in the grave (Munkar & Nakeer).

    - There is the Angel of Death, who takes the soul of the person.

Remember : Allah the Most High has allowed animals to see and hear things better than people. Sometimes the animals can see the Angels

The Prophet (SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam) said : "When you hear a rooster, ask Allaah to give you His favours, because it saw an angel."

    Pillar 3 - Belief in Allah's Messengers.

The Third pillar of Iman is having 'Belief' in Allah's Messengers. Remember: All Messengers are Prophets but, not all prophets are messengers! Muhammad {SWT} Was the last prophet! There will be none after him.

Pillar 4 - Belief in his Books.

    -Ibraheem (alaiyhis-salam) - The Scriptures

    - Da'ood (alaiyhis -salam) - The Zaboor (Psalms)

    - Musa (alaiyhis-salam) - The Tauraat (Torah)

    - 'Esa (alaiyhis-salam) - The Injeel (Bible/Gospel)

    - Muhammad (SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam ) - The Qur'an (That which is recited)

Pillar 5 - Belief in the Day Of Judgement.

The Fifth pillar of Iman is to believe in the last day. On the last day, we will be judged of what we have done bad and what we have done wrong. On the day of judgement the righteous Muslims will be wearing clean garments, as for the non Muslims will be absolutely naked.
    Pillar 6 - Belief in Pre-Ordainment.

Pre-Ordainment what this means is everything in our lives has already been written. What age we will die, what will happen in the future.. ect.
    3. Believing in Whatever Muhammad { PBUH } Said.
We have to believe in everything Muhammad { SWT } taught us.
    __________________________________________________

Why we say (SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam)
    • Whenever we hear Muhammad (SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam) Name. We say, " SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam" or " Peace Be Upon Him "
The Meaning of, " SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam " - May Allah bless him and grant him peace. We are making a Dua for Muhammad ( SalAllahu alaiyhi wasallam )

    Angels

How to believe in the Angels
    1. The Angels are beings that we cannot see and we must believe in their Existence.
    2. To believe in the names of those who are known and those who are not known.
    3. To have belief in what we are told about their characteristics and attributes.
    4. To believe in the actions they do.
    Creation of Angels?
    • We learn about the Angels from the Qur'an and the Sunnah
    • The Angels were created before all the people.
    • The Angels were created even before Adam (alayhis-salam) who was the first man to be created (mankind are created from clay.)
    • Allah created Angels from light (and the Jinn Allah created from smokeless fore).
    • The wife of the Prophet (Salallahu- alaiyhi-wasallam), Aisha (RadiyAllaahu-anhuma) said that the prophet (SalAllahu-alaiyhi-wasallam) said : "The Angels were created from light."
Who do the Angels look like?
    • The Angels are not all the same
    • Some of them are BIG
    • Some of them have more wings than others
    • Some of them are stronger than others.
    • Each Angel has its own place.
    They are beautiful.
Most of the Angels look very beautiful, and Allah says in the Qur'an about the Angel Jibreel, in other woods Gaibreel :

"It (the Qur'an) is taught to him (Muhammad) by one (angel) of great night. He has beautiful for, as he appeared upon the horizon"

When Muhammad (PBUH) saw Jibreel for the first time in the sky, he (SWT) described him as having 600 wings each wing filling the side of the horizon, with a colourful array and pearls and rubies falling from each wing as much as only Allah knows.
    Their Character.
    • The Angels are chosen by Allah to be among the best of His creation.
    • So Allah has made the Angels the most noble of all His creation.
    • They are obedient to Allah and they rush to obeying what Allah tells them to do.
    • They are also very modest and shy.
The Angels do not eat, sleep or get bored.
They worship Allah ALL day and ALL night without resting.

    They travel very fast.

The Angels can travel very fast up and down from heaven to earth. They are faster than any horse, sound, light or rocket. They travel faster than the speed of light.
    Where are the Angels?

The Angels usually stay in the Heavens. They only come to Earth when Allah tell them to.
    What the Angels like
    • The Angels like to Pray
    • Make Du'a
    • They like to listen to the Qur'an and the praise of Allah (when the Qur'an is read in a good way and read to please Allah alone, the Angels come close to listen to the reading.)
What the Angels do not like
    • They hate listening to music, lies and other bad things.
    • the Angels do not like the ugly smells that we also hate.
    • The Angels do not enter houses that have dogs or pictures of human beings or animals, because Allah forbade these things.
THE BENEFIT OF BELIEVING IN THE ANGELS
    1. It shows Allah's Greatness and Power
    2. It shows Allah's Mercy and Care for us.
    3. To love the Angels for their Worship of Allah
    Word Bank

    Hadith - Are narrations from the words and deeds of Muhammad { SWT }

Sunnah - This is what Muhammad { SWT} Did and habits.

Shirk - Is basically like a sin but much worse. There are two groups of Shirk. Major Shirk and minor Shirk. Major shirk will never be forgiven but as for minor ( Allah knows best ). IF YOU DIE UPON SHIRK YOUR GOING TO GO TO HELL ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.

Dua - In the terminology of Islam, Du'a (دعاء) is the act of supplication. The term is derived from an Arabic word meaning to 'call out' or to 'summon', and Muslims regard this as a profound act of worship. ( All credit goes to Wikipedia's definition for " Dua " )
Thank you for viewing my guide! I hope you post brilliant feedback and any question! I'll be sure to help out :)

    What is Islam?

First off I'd like to state I appreciate the effort but I don't think this thread is appropriate for Sythe for multiple reasons. First off it being a runescape/gaming forum filled with kids who could care less about religion or lack thereof, the few who do have an opinion on the matter are mostly atheists then Christians and quite outspoken ones (just venture into SFA; you'll see). Secondly, some of these topics you touch on without fully expanding, this just serves to garner more misinformation on Islam and that this info is readily available with proper citation all over the internet.

Quite a few spelling errors which can be easily fixed via spell check, I kinda stopped reading halfway through. Some of your credits go to the wrong places, like the one about Abu Bakr should be credited as a hadith and not jannah.org

You do not explain why images, pictures and dogs are bad things Allah forbade (which he didn't entirely) and there are many more unanswered questions just skimming through it. Also, you could post some of the miracles related to Islam and Muslim's contributions to society in general.

    What is Islam?

Don't post threads about religion here. TBH there is completly no point. If you want to learn you can learn. But its much better off that this isnt posted here and deleted before people start trolling.

Btw, @ the poster are you even a muslim?

    What is Islam?

Thanks for the feedback! I understand there are disrespectful people on Sythe but that's something you have to live with. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The credits are not supposed to go to the hadith as the information about Abu-bakr was copied from Jannah.org so I needed to credit them.

Thanks for the feedback in general.

You could probably teach them about stuff they haven't learnt before :D

I wasn't aware there was a rule against posting threads about religion, trolling can be easily prevented. I think it would be a bit stupid if I wasn't muslim and posted this ;)
