does def matter when range/mage boxing?

yes def accounts for 30% of ur resistance to magic

 

how about range?

 

big impact...range boxxers are ussually 1 def so sneak a lil def in there for extra protection

 

Nowhere does it say that 30% of ur mage defense comes from defense. There are no numbers for that anyway. For range defence matters and for magic the higher your magic lvl the better def you have against mage.

 

I had 80 range and 78 hp 57 cb and i fought a guy with like 60 range 60 def and he wrecked me with rings.

 

Yeah, it does. The higher deff, the better.

 

It counts.. mage def is 30% of your protection.. That is like an undisputed fact. Range boxing im 83range 93hp and failed accounts with 1-8def and a dfire shield can beat my with 80/85 stats while im using zamorak book. So watch out

 

Agreed, 30% is just a widespread rumor - jagex in general likes to avoid mentioning numbers involved in combat math

However, defence does help a nontrivial amount in mage boxing, and it's quite big in range boxing
