Gf Skillcapes??

I'd like to say you don't get any stats from the new capes.

So, if you want a cape with good defence and a prayer bonus, better ditch the clan and go back to skilling.

 

Only people that are wearing these capes are those noob level 80's and 100's /Every F2Per whose clan will fail and fall sometime this week or next week.

 

I doubt the new capes will have any effect on the prices of stuff just because they may look better than skill capes to some people. I've seen them but haven't really checked them out myself, do they do anything special? any stat bonuses?

 

Skill capes also give you some decent bounses?

 

The new capes look hidious honestly... I'm not seeing why everyone thinks they look "so cool". I like how kids are also trying to make them look like skillcapes, and if I'm not mistaken the capes give no combat bonuses whatsoever, thus making them useless in combat, which is why my skillcape will not be leaving my back for some shitty looking wannabe skillcape.

 

Runescape is notorious for placing high value on useless items that make you look unique. So I can see why people who previously were using obsidian capes were happy with the update.

 

Just another cool addition nothing will change.

 

They are totally free. You just need to start a clan or join one to get them.

 

The back of the cape looks like a knock off from the 120 dung cape and the front of the cape where it foes around your neck looks like a big saggy pile of material. Completely retarded. Plus the cape has 0 bonuses. I'm sticking to my fire/skill capes.

The designs you can put on the back are pretty cool though.

 

I wear one while i'm pking, if i don't wear my team cape, just because they look kinda cool. It annoys the shit out of me though when i see people trying to replicate 99 pray cape etc, and i know if i had spent the money+time+effort of getting 99 pray i'd be seriously pissed off.

 

Once again Jagex has copied another mmorpg,
but fails to meet the standard set.
In this case they have copied Guild Wars

Agreed 100% percent with both.
Also would like to add, there's a certain respect that comes with a skillcape ( in addition to obvious benefits of the skill etc), which people want.
These new capes are going to be so common they'll lose their charm - every other guy would have a clan cape - and would NOT AT ALL affect the current situation of skillcapes.

Umm not at all lol? People like skill capes because they're rare and a sign of achievement. Obviously a cape that anyone can get for basically free won't really effect the economy at all, it'll just be another noob item that looks good.

When something new comes out and you can wear that item, people wear it for first couple weeks, then eventually it dies out, meaning its not famous anymore.

If you look at who is wearing them.. it's the kids wearing D med, D legs and granite body with a Whip and obby shield. AKA - noob.

It's more or less a worse obby cape.
