Gf Skillcapes??

Hello sythe, I was going to get a 99 on each one of my pures for a skillcape
(to look sick), until I logged in this morning and saw every1 with with capes that look better than herb capes. After i found out what they were I ditched the skillcapes and got me a cape that looks way better than a prayer cape, IN 5 MINUTES, WITHOUT SPENDING 300M!

What do you think will happen to skilling and item prices?

I doubt there will be too much change.
Most people get high skills for the benefits, and Jagex usually enhance this factor by adding more and more benefits for people with higher skills.
For example, prayer. Before the curses update with Turmoil, having 99 prayer was fairly useless, most people would stop at 70 because Piety was the best prayer and there was nothing more to achieve. But since they've added the ancient curses, there has been a very large increase in demand for bones etc.
Similarly, herblore, was fairly pointless as it barely made money, but now so many people are getting high herblore levels for overloads etc

Most people get skill capes to show off their level in that skill, hence the name skill cape.

The new clan capes look cool, and they have similarities with skill capes, but they don't show that you've got a 99..

It's not the same. You're missing the point of skill capes - to show off a 99.

Imo, they don't even look that similar anyway.

The update just came out today, people are just hyped up about it. People will be back to wearing regular stuff soon.

 

If you are trying to look cool, you won't soon, everyone will have them, unless they have skillcape.

Plus a skillcape gives you recognition for your achievement, this cape doesn't do anything, it's just another cape.

 

imo most kids that wear the dumb clan capes are trying to make them look like some skill capes like i saw one kid with a wana be slayer cape another with wana be dung they look like crap when you look at what they really are and no special emote

they are overrated right now and many people will go back to reg skill capes within a few days

 

I'd rather have a permanent 99 than some dumb cape I can make anytime

Another pointless update; can't say that I'm surprised...

 

They're trying to keep everyone happy yet I don't see much intensive clan wars going on that it would be needed to be taken to this extent. I was sort of proud having a cape that was different to the silly team capes and obby capes that people wear but now my skillcapes are basically useless and just collect dust in my bank..
