Frequently won't do it. I too have thick and dense facial hair, and I find the best way to get a really clean shave is to shave first with the grain, then touch up against the grain. That's really the best suggestion. If your hair is thick, you'll likely always have the faint imprint of shadow (I do), but that just comes with it. Also, use a manual razor over an electric. I started on an electric, and switched to manual when I was 17, and haven't looked back. You get a much more close shave.

What do you mean "shave first with the grain"? I'm sorry, really new to this. I shaved once or twice before and like you said I did have a faint imprint - That's something I hate and I really want to know a way around that.

    Thanks

"The grain" refers to the direction that hair naturally grows on your face. When you rub your hand over your face, you'll find that one direction feels relatively smooth, and another direction feels rough. The direction that feels rough is against the grain. Shaving first with the grain (meaning in the direction that feels smooth), will reduce the irritation from shaving against (which can irritate your skin quite a bit).

An alternative to shaving against the grain is to shave horizontally after shaving with the grain. Going against the grain can sometimes cause irritation.

Shaving horizontally sounds a bit hard? Could you please explain how I could do that

He means to shave perpendicular to the grain. So if the grain is towards the floor, shave left to right after shaving with the grain. When I feel like being extra smooth, I tend to shave in all four directions, just to ensure a clean shave.

Shaving against the grain can cause ingrown hairs for a lot of people, so watch out for that when u try it

You have to shave daily, it can get annoying, but that is the only way to achieve your goal. I have the same problem

Like Kabal stated, ingrown hairs can be a real problem - have you considered letting it just grow. Honestly, if you find a routine and a length that you enjoy it becomes a lot easier to maintain.

Your easiest solution may be to just let it grow out and rock the look of having a thick but maintained look of facial hair. Trim it with a facial hair trimmer and maintain it every day. To me it's honestly a clean look and it's not to difficult to handle.

Would shaving with a cutthroat razor be better?

Well I use that new Gillette razor and it works for me. I never get stuble for a day or 2. If you don't want it you're going to have to shave everyday. I wouldn't suggest it because you'll prolly get razor bumps.

If you shave constantly it will only make it grow faster, though if you really want to remove the stubble that is what you will have to do.

Once a day should do the trick :)

    - Remember that if you are using a manual razor that you use shaving cream, if you dry shave it can lead to acne/irritated skin.

The thing is I get a no stubble shave BUT it leaves shaving blemishes which make that part of my skin really dark. are there any remedys or products that can get rid of these blemishes?

My best advice is this: get a razor with a few blades and a nice razor at that. Then shave with the grain really good. then against the grain slowly. then apply a nice after shave. and if u really want a good shave apply a preshave like lectric shave
