Any relevant academic achievement is good on a resume.

 

Job or school resume? For school, your transcript it really doesn't matter besides gpa/act, unless you are potentially wanting to apply for a higher end college like Vanderbilt/baylor/Bcu. For a job I guess it could help, but doubt many places would give 2 shits about it.

 

It's a job resume. And I was thinking nobody would give half a shit about this, as it's not like it takes any effort to get above a 3.0 GPA.

I'm tempted to not pay the $50 fee to join, but still put it on my resume.

NO. Trust me, as someone very affiliated with the college process. These organizations form and are *for profit*, aka their goal is to make money from you. They make you pay a steep entrance fee just so you can join them and basically do nothing. Any credible employer will see right through it. However, i'd put your GPA and SAT scores on your job app.

 

This. I've gotten MANY MANY letters like these over the past few years. They aren't scams and you actually are in the organization but it's not going to benefit you to be honest.

 

I totally disagree with you. I plan on joining a Frat next year to make business connections. If you aren't going to be active and get business connections from it, then don't join because it will waste your money.
