Make a chat for Sythe! :D

Some Sythe users may be unfamiliar with using mIRC and how to get it, or how to find the right channel to be in the right chat, also the process of having to run mIRC separately from Sythe might create a lot less activity.

If this idea does interests the staff in the near future, then maybe they would consider having a button/link on the homepage to a chat server for Sythe, or a website based chat server from Sythe, making it easily accessible and advertised well enough for all of Sythe's users to be aware of.

 

Are you sure that's the reason why it's taken down? From what I remember, it was quite active at "peak times". I remember vaguely that some people couldn't connect, the connection wasn't very stable and there were problems with DDoS protection.

On-Topic: I support a official IRC. Though it's been suggested before and the previous IRC probably hasn't been taken down and not brought back without a reason.

 

This has already been done once, and it didn't last long. I highly doubt even if it's supported that it will happen.

There was a IRC a few years ago, which was up for quite a while, and there was another IRC up a few months ago, but was taken down after 1-2 months.

 

It was fixed, don't know what happened.

 

Step 1) Go to www.striked.org
Step 2) type in your desired username
Step 3) type in #sythe for the channel
Step 4) press enter.

You don't have to use mIRC or any downloaded client for that matter

 

If the chat is not on RS itself, yes, good idea. If it is on RS, Jagex could find out about it.

 

this is a good idea, but would only ever work on IRC, because everywhere else the chat would be way too crowded.

 

i think most "Runescape Players" use either Swiftkit, SS, or Mirc anyway.
