Anyone notice that the price for RSGP is dropping extensively?

I think this is due to too many scammers and suppliers.

    *sigh*

Now even the legit people sell at $0.8 and dropping lol.

Can see that very soon that the market will fall apart due to the excessive money that is ingame. But normally situations like this even in the real world only the old timers will gain and remain in the market.

I was buying at $0.8/M and selling at $1.1/M.

Now i'm buying as low as $0.5/M and selling at @ $0.8/M

In will increase again in the future. It's just at the moment it's crashing because of heavy supply.

Doubt it would, i foresee it being something like WoW. Where the mighty China gold farmers/hackers will flood the market with too much supply and crash the market until its not worth selling anymore. LOL

Just some facts, when I started selling Runescape back in RSC days it was for $40/M when they were less strict and we could sell on eBay, although it took like 2-3 hours of really good merchanting to earn a Mil back then. It gradually dropped to $25/M or so

Fast forward to Runescape 2 when the botters and China gold farms came in and flood the market the prices went from $15/M dropping to $5/M or so before they patched it. Fastest way to earn GP at that time through skilling was to craft nature runes which was like 1M an hour.

And now during the 2nd free trade era, prices have steadily dropped from $1.2/M to $0.75/M over the past 2 months or so? Fastest way to earn GP I know so far through skilling is to be killing Frost Dragons which can get you about 4M/hour with top tier equipment and maxed account I think.

Can do the maths! Don't see it improving to be honest, its just about who is the most evil and has more power from now on. Through my time on and off playing Runescape I've never seen prices go UP , ONLY DOWN.

PS: Figures are not exact but they are true once upon a time.

The biggest problem that is decreasing the value of gold are botters. Correct? Yes! And where to Two-year olds go that don't know how to script? BING BING BING! Correct again! Rsbots.net, Powerbot.org, and Rsbuddy.com
All of these sites are causing the value of RSGP to decrease. Though, I'm not attacking these sites at all, they do need to charge a fee for their scripts. Rsbots.net already charges for all of their scripts. PERFECT! Powerbot.org and Rsbuddy.com? Nope. They offer FREE scripts, allowing the entire fucking world to bot without having to paid for anything.

WITHOUT RISK THERE IS NOT REWARD. Cannot remember who said that first, but that dude was right on. If sites such as Powerbot.org and Rsbuddy.com were to charge for there scripts then people would be faced with two options. One, QUIT Botting, causing the supply to lower and the demand to raise. Two, a person would have to put a little RISK into investing in a script, most fags don't have the starting money just laying around to purchase these scripts for a dumb game... Causing the prices of Gp to raise.

But sites such as Rsbuddy.com and Powerbot.org would go under because of lack of traffic to their site. FUCK TO THE YES. Botting sites would indeed lose traffic, but who fucking cares? They will make that money back by either selling their scripts or botting themselves and selling the gp because gp would have gone back up..

    Yet again MINDFUCKED!

GP was around $1.20 during the first week of free trade. People decided to lower to $1.00-1.10 to defeat competition, but then people kept on lowering the price to beat the competition. You can now get your hands on GP at prices at low as .40/M now. If every GP seller just raises their prices to .90-1.00 again, there will be more profits floating in.

Yes but if RuneScape got rid of the bots, that would be an impact to there profit.I am not taking there side, but if I were them I would leave the bloody bots alone because tons are paying for membership now. RuneScape is dying, for all of you sell your gold as soon as you can because very soon gold will be worthless. You might as-well do better in second life, because I sure am.

honestly,Jagex hasnt done a mass ban in a while. There probobly doing this on purpose so they can post on their homepage "biggest mass ban yet" to make it seem like there going to deplete the bots. when in reality they are just letting people profit as much as possible, for as long as possible. But if Jagex has an actual MASSIVE ban, you will probobly see a change in the current GP prices.

I only remember the mass ban happening once though before the free trade was taken off. Anyone recalls more then that?

If they do a mass ban, it means they are doing a mass cash in due to half of the botters being able to re-buy there rolled back accounts back.

Even if they ban only 30,000 botters, which in all honesty couldnt be to hard to do..

for those who are bad at maths
    30000x22 = $660,000

Yes the 30k botters is hypothetical..

Competition would just bring the prices down again, there's no way to get the hundreds, if not thousands of gold sellers to cooperate with one another to keep prices at certain amount.

This is also happening because the market is a whole lot more liquid then it was once. People who quit unescape afther those changes (you know the ones) have also been popping up out of the woodwork also increasing supply.

I have to disagree to this because most of the old players such as myself.
We come back but we don't really hold alot of GP just maybe alot of discontinued items which is actually a good thing because it helps burns off some of the excessive GP and creates demand for the GP.

Phats weren't worth Billions when I quit :D

A mass ban + some action from Runescape to take off the excessive GP should help alot. They released Summoning skill for this reason I believe, but mostly its just bots that is killing the game to me.
