Report a Scammer - Addon

My Suggestion would go in conjunction with this suggestion by Blupig:

Basically, what I was thinking (no idea if it's possible, or practical), is that when someone creates a scam report on another user, they need to put the URL of that members profile into a template. This would then enable the member who is being accused to post on that thread. My reason for this being I have seen numerous RaSc threads recently which have been mods relaying messages for the members because they can't post in there themselves.

That's all I have for now, but more could be added in later.
Like I said, no idea if it is practical or can be implemented into Sythe's version of VB, but no harm in suggesting it

 

Have you seen powerbot's scam reports? They're a disaster. Allowing the accused to post just results in a huge pissing contest, from what I've seen and what I can assume. I'm fine with having to post for the accused, in all honesty.

 

That's a fair call, but it seems that with powerbot, anyone is allowed to post in them, perhaps just the person in question would mean less spam. Not sure. Your response is the kind of thing I'm looking for from mods .

Also, to keep it from a piss fight, it could be made like the '"Dispute a ban" section, where it needs to be mod approved before being shown, this could mean that the accused can reply, but only when accepted by a mod?

If not, sweet . just trying to make your jobs easier.

 

Honestly think it's more effective to just have the message relayed. As stated above, it really can just turn into spam. Yes, while the individuals could just be infracted; it causes an unnecessary hassle.

I'm not sure how it's set up, but I believe approving posts is only Global + (would cause a back up.) As well, when they approve Dispute A Ban - or at least when a majority do - they simply check all, and press approve. Going through each individual post and checking what it says is also a hassle. Seems that the system is already fine how it is, and it would be an unnecessary change which could have some downsides.

I won't post for this to be closed, as all suggestions are for the benefit of the community, although with a little more light shed on it, this can be disregarded.

 

I would say guilty until proven innocent. The accused shouldn't have to worry if they did not commit an offense as they can either explain themselves if contacted by a mod or the report will be closed because there is no conclusive proof.

 

Yeah, but the reasoning behind this would be they can reply, when accepted by a mod, and therefore wouldn't need to wait the 24hour limit, like most mods give.

 

It seems like a good idea, but I can see why it wouldn't work, as pointed out by Kero and Tmoe.
