Price of rares in a year..

How much will do you think rares be worth in a years time, 2 3 etc?

What happens when their value goes over max cash?

 

I predict a mass crash.

Because of the supply and demmand with dramatically change. At the moment, the supply of masks is VERY low, this therfore will increase the price rapidly. Over a period of time, players with lots of these party hats will dramatically dump them back into the market. Happened quite alot over the years. That's was caused santa's and masks/pumpkin/easters to dramatically rise, and then crashed in FT.

Investing in rares is a very risky game.

 

thats complete bull shit their rares they can't crash moron, as there are less in the game.... god damn it not trying to troll but think before you speak..

if there are less of an item they will rise every more making the need even greater its fucking supply and demand..

I've been playing since santa's were at a steady 190k and phats were 3mil (around 2004 I think) and I can tell you I've never seen them back there.

The simple fact of the matter is that bots have brought too much gold into the game. Too many players are capable of buying large quantities of these items. This means that if the items are dropping people will start buying them as they drop and deplete the market again.

This is a basic way of thinking about it: You know cheezy? richest player in runescape - right - 1k santas... well say now she decides to sell all of these at 100k, this might bring down the price marginally and introduce 1k more santa hats into the game, but there are more than enough people who can afford to buy all 1k of these at a much higher price... so some other player is going to buy all of them and the they will become rare again.

It's been happening since the day that they were dropped.

 

I have a feeling rares will continue to rise but only because the game is being flooded with GP so more people are able to buy rares, also I reckon GP will become very cheap $/M soon.

In the longrun, yes.
But only in the longrun.
During Trade limit, h'weens and santas used to "crash" to min price every other day. Then go back to max.
then crash again.

Same with partyhats.
Purple used to be 1.3b during trade limit, then crashed to 500mil right before FT was re-introduced. Now it's back to 880m~.

The trick is to find whether $/mil or rares will rise faster. Also if you take exchange rates into account it would be better to get what you can in euro's. just putting it out there.

 

I think there gonna have to increase max cashpile, why havnt they done that yet???

 

The game is coded in Java. Java can't have a number bigger than the max cash pile. Even if they did increase the number (which is physically impossible), it wouldn't change anything.

 

I dont think theyll crash but more in lines of rise do to alot of botters and more money being put into market. Thus, making people more rich and people will realize they can raise price of p hats substantially! =|

It depends how long it takes people to find out Masks/Partyhats/Santas are pointless novelties.

Why?: They are useless unless you're just standing around to look cool. Other wise when you go do slayer or kill something, it sits in the bank because it does not give any stats, and everything protects over it.

I'd rather have a bronze helmet.

 

100% Agreement, I've owned one rare, a Santa and sold it within the 4 hours to get rid of it because it's useless.

 

I think they will rise for some time and have a crash, not a big one but perhaps a normal one. I also think the rares will go back up.

No, they won't raise the max cash because as Xero just stated, RuneScape is coded in Java and the max number you can code is max cash number as it is, you can't go past that number, it is impossible.
