    Workout Tips?

I've recently started working out on a regular schedule. Not to lose weight, but for weight gain. I'm tall (6'2") and skinny (170 lbs).

If any of y'all would be able to help me out with some sort of schedule or any tips, I'd be much appreciative!

    Google.
Also you want 1g protein per lb of bodyweight per day. Eat above maintenance.

There are so many different things on Google. I was hoping someone could tell me a way that will get results.

    Thanks, though! That's helpful!

I would say go to the GYM 3-5 times a week, eat healthy, and depending on your body weight adjust to a stable diet and eating times. I'd also suggest buying youself WHEY protein and drinking some before & after going to GYM.

My GYM sheduel is like this - 25 on Treadmill to warm myself up, then I go and do various of stomach exersises, don't go above what you think you can't do, remember more is better, then a lot but less. I then do my bicepts and a few other machines, just go threw your gym and do every machine effectively in SETS, i do set's of 20's, then i go and bench press & do barbells & pushups with weights... you should now have some sort of a clue on how to get fit.

The best thing to do is pay the 60 bucks for the one hour personal training meeting and set up a routine with him or her. They will see what you can do and give you a solid routine do that for a month and then you can adjust a little more into other things. They will help you get your core strong so it will not only help you gain weight but it will help you from hurting yourself.

I'm not as tall as you but I've had the same problem for ages.If your really trying to gain muscle mass then you'll need to both feed and hydrate your body aswell as working out on a regular basis. I recommend working out on the 4 days/week workout Monday (Bench/Squat) Tuesday (Powerclean/Deadlift) Wensday( Break or do a bit of cardio to stay in shape) Thursday (Towelbench/Box squat) Friday (Powerclean/Deadlift) To gain size keep reps to a minimum and weights maximum try doing no more then 3 sets and never above 10 8 6 try to stay at 3 3 3 , 6 4 2 , 6 6 6, and 10 8 6. Of course do auxiliaries that pertain to your cores each day " 3 x 10" The next big thing is feeding your body. Get a protein with a bunch of calories such as serious mass or muscle milk, and take them 2-3 times a day with whole/2% milk. Next try to eat 7 small meals a day oatmeal, eggs, peanut butter jelly sandwhiches, lunch meat sandwhiches, protein bars are great ways to start. The trick is to have these things near you when your hungry that way you eat healthy as opposed to junk. You may also want to consider taking a creatine and a preworkout as I find both to be very usefull In gaining mass. If you need any more help hit me up on msn "[email protected]"

do NOT go to the GYM or running or things like that, if your real skinny and you cant help it then you only will get skinnier if u exercise no matter how hard u train, exercizing makes the fat u gain dissappear and thats not what u want, first you need to gain lots of weight by "living like a fast food junky" eat ALOT of burgers and shit that makes ppl fat, and after every meal you take a protein shake, living healthy is the reason why you are so skinny right now, might hard to comprehend but this is the ONLY way you are gonna gain weight, ok so when you did this for a couple weeks months and when you can see you got much more weight/fat THEN is the time when you start working out and get these muscles, trust me dont trust all the crap on the internet about eating wealthy stuff its all bullshit and will get u skinnier, you have to bruteforce it

This goes against absolutely everything I've read. I'm not looking to gain unhealthy weight, I'm looking to gain muscle mass. Sitting on my ass all day and eating junk food isn't going to be good for my body no matter how you look at it.
I want to get in the gym, put on some weight, and keep healthy.

I'm like exactly the same although i'm 6ft 4. I'm just gonna go for a 3 mile jog 4 times a week and do exercises like crunches three times a week. Using a jump rope with weights on aswell. Just general things like this will get you going and make sure you make it a routine.

That's not generally something that I've heard of for gaining mass. Cardio, I know, is used more for toning and losing weight.

But best of luck to you! I guess we'll see where we end up!

You are on a RUNESCAPE FORUM

Seriously don't take advice from anyone here. If you are 100% serious about getting into the gym then go to www.bodybuilding.com/forum

Read all the stickys in the exercise, nutrition teen section etc. Best information you can get and if you have any questions then you can talk to other people who KNOW what they are talking about

Buy yourself an exercise book from Amazon or somewhere, and make yourself a workout. Buy some protein shakes, and if you want to put on size then do around 3 sets with 6 - 8 reps per set lifting as heavy as you possibly can.

    Workout Tips?

I purchased a Power Strength Training book from Amazon and some Whey Protein that I've been mixing into milk right about my workouts.

Everything seems to be going well so far! I'm excited for some results.
