Paypal Question

Alright so i've recently sold some things on ebay and i'm going to switch my bank account/CC to a different paypal account seeing as i was using a family members and decided to get my own. What will happen if i remove them/unverify my account then someone claims money back and wins the dispute but i have no money on the account or anything registerd to it? Any help is appreciated

 

They will go negative in paypal, and if they have their real information on it and don't know about it, you could fuck up their credit.

 

They'll have your address/and or IP address. They'll find you and MAKE you pay for it. And don't forget, anything you put on the Internet STAYS ON THE INTERNET. So they'll still have your credit card number if they can't find you. If they can't use that, and the other party (the person disputing) is pissed, you'll go to court.

The safest way is to just CLOSE the account completely.

 

If you've sold something on eBay and shipped it, there's no possible way they can backcharge.

 

So what will happen if i close the account and they try to dispute?

 

If they open a dispute once the account is closed, paypal will contact the phone number originally listed on the account or use any information uploaded to get in contact with you. I myself have closed an account and 6 weeks later had $500+ reversed out of it and did not know about it until a collection agency got in contact with me demanding i payed the amount, they could not provide me with any information or evidence. I contacted paypal directly and via email managed to prove the shipping of the item and the amount was not removed from the closed account and it was all hunky dory. Just remember once you close the account, it is not fully closed on paypal's end. They have all your information and will try their hardest to receive any unpaid fees or negative balances. The collection agencies they use are No-Win No-Pay, meaning they won't get payed until you pay them and they will hassle you for weeks and eventually ruin the credit rating of the person's related to the account. BUT will not have your credit card and bank account information as this is illegal to keep after they have been removed from the account.

I think i solved his problem. I've had too many bad experiences with paypal so im sure my information helps alot and the sources are personal experiences.
