Xanax - Medication

Alright I'm getting these prescribed for my anxiety, are these addicting or is it just another one of those lies that scholls tell you so you don't ever try them?

I know if you take them everyday you'll of course be dependent on them and you'll build up a tolerance to their effect.

Tl:dr Do they make you want to come back for more? I'll only be taking them when it's absolutely necessary.

 

It depends on the person. If you like the way they make you feel and you like their effects, then you could feel terrible when you don't have them, just like coming down if you got high on them. That could make some people want more because they felt better when they were on them. If you take them regularly for a while, it will start to feel like normal because you won't feel the effects anymore even though it's still in your system. Just don't abuse them and you should be fine.

 

Damn you're lucky. Yeah they can be very addicting. As long as you don't take more than perscribed you'll be fine. They make you feel really nice.

I had a friend who withdrew from Xanax, it was the most horrible experience he ever had in his life. Complete sleeplessness, paranoia, pins and needles sensations, hot/cold feelings, mood swings, just everything, and it went on for 4-5 months. After that, he swore it off, and he's careful even with having a pint of brewsky every once in a while.

Take it in the recommended dosage, but do your absolute best not to become dependent on it.

Btw I have aspergers and I take nothing for the pervading anxiety, often depressions, and other negative feelings. I just learn to live with it, and cross each bridge when I get to it.
