It's really easy, people always get worried about it. Just do everything properly, they usually aren't very strict.

I managed to pass while causing a traffic jam, cutting corners ect, don't worry about it.

I'm a horrible driver, I admit, but I passed the license test. No need to worry about anything, just follow the basic driving rules.

Long story short I ran into a mini-van on a different street, the van was stopped at a stop sign.

We have no idea what state you live in, the test varies state to state. In Florida, I had no time whatsoever with my drivers test. He had me back out, turn, park, speed stop, change lanes, 3-point turn, asked me one question ("what way do you turn your steering wheel if parking uphill.") and then we parked again. It took like 5-10 minutes, and was the easiest thing of my life. As long as you're comfortable with the old man you don't know watching you intensely, and know basic driving procedure then you'll do just fine.

I took mine in Florida too, about 8 years ago. You described my experience too. Same basic thing.

I just about could have failed mine. Why? Because I forgot to use my turn signal when going to park. I had been so confident I had done so well I forgot this simple thing. So yeah at the end use your turn signal even when in a parking lot ;)

This makes me feel so much better, I live in Vegas, and people drive like shit. Also, I still don't have a permit, and I'd have to buy a car myself which sort of kills the point for a bit. xD

How does this work in America?

I remember I had to do 50 hours on my Ls here in australia before I could take the test, and then they were incredibly picky, deducting points for the slightest positioning errors and such.

Then again I took it in a small country town where everyone knew eachother, and the bloke who did my test didn't like our family all that much xD

Just relax bro, keep it cool. And focus on the road not that the marker is looking at you. You'll be fine

It varies from state to state in America. For my state you need to have owned a permit for 6 months and log 50 hours of driving (10 of which need to be at night). You also need to have passed a drivers education class, then you can take the driving and written part of your test.

When I took my driving test they wherent really picky, they had a list of 20 or so things you where "graded" on, if it wasn't on the list you couldn't be subtracted points for it. EX: I started off my drive with my parking brake still on and drove with one hand most of the time because I was picking my lip because I was nervous, and wasn't deducted for either.

I've had 30 hours in class, 5 hours with a teacher in car, and 50 hours with a parent. It's for my test.
I have suspension today so I'm taking it tomorrow >_>

Its 120 hours now in Australia (Im currently on my L's), and the examiners in my town are also very picky.

    On topic -
Just remain calm and be generally aware of whats going on an you will be fine. Goodluck!

Get prepared for everything he tells you to do as he says it. It's common sense but it helps a lot.
