Guide section reform

Sounds good, glad you're on this SMR. I've liked this idea since Nate said it and I know how bad selling guides can be at times.

May I ask what your problem is?.. You constantly attack people who disagree with you.. I'm the prime example and now you're attacking him?
I'd like to state two things:
One, your ideas are MUCH farther out there then Nate's. I posted on this thread disagreeing and agreeing with different aspects, as I did on yours.
Two, attacking people is rather immature.. Don't ya think?
If you have something to say to them, PM them.

For the thread, SMR I'm happy you're on board.. Finally someone that actually has the perms to change things around .
Any idea on when anything will happen? I haven't seen anything in the OGV lounge.

Actually plznate, here are some of the suggestions from mine that I think could be added to yours if you think the same:

Change the whole layout of the guide section as follows:

Sythe Homepage
- Runescape Market
-- Free Guides (Add link to Runescape Guide Sales)
-- Runescape Guide Sales
--- Verified Guide Sales (Add link to Runescape Free Guides and unverified Guide Sales)
--- Unverified Guide Sales (Add link to Runescape Free Guides and Verified Guide Sales)







In regards to the rules and what guides not to sell/post

The rules can remain as they are, however consider all guides that can supposedly be found free.

This means, allow guide users to post guides that could possibly be found free. It is then up to the verifier to determine whether it really can be found free and is useless or if the information is truly good that it should be listed.
Examples:
Merchanting Guides;
Flipping Guides;
Staking;
Luring;
Simple Guides such as how to complete soul wars games.

 

plznate I have just had a new idea regarding the rule that denies general knowledge. If say a guide such as a merchant guide is verified with this suggestion, you can add a line at the top saying that the guide may contain general knowledge. This idea can definitely be built up and I think it's a great idea to get better guides into the community.

 

I'd be happy if the "update" even happens due to the fact to many mods leaving and the workload is piling up, and even more importantly Nate is taking a break from Sythe.

I hadn't read this, I don't know why, but I find this one of the most important suggestions to be implemented in Sythe at the moment.

The section is like a dump. Needs to get organized and controlled.

I recently posted in Sythe support where to become a guide verified, but I guess there's no way yet. I hope this suggestion is implemented soon.

This wouldn't even affect things like this? Guides aren't/never will be forced to be verified. People need to report the thread + the individual. Once that is done, the thread will be locked/deleted and the individual banned.

As well, Nate was the driving force behind this, now there is no driving force to have this implemented. It's most-likely going to be a little while.

 

There's still a part of community behind this, not only staff or ex-staff opinions should count :noworry:

Tmoe made a thread, haven't read it thuroughly but maybe his idea can be integrated into this as a whole guide overhaul.

i am very active in the guide section and it is annoying looking at guides that should be verified or obvious scams that should be dealt with to avoid scamming less experienced sythe members...support

I completely agree with this, great idea and will make more people think about posting the guide before posting it.

Do you think it should be a requirement that the guide HAS to be verified before being sold? (as in when you post the guide it has to be reviewed before it shows up on these forums)
This will stop all the people posting 4m/hr guides as they know it won't get posted
