VPSes for botting - Talk about them here!

I canceled my Photon service last month. They canceled it. And then this month they charged me for the service that was canceled the previous month. So im not mad about not receving a service. I the service i paid for, it sucked, and I canceled it. I won't get my initial payment back, and im fine with that. But what im mad about is that they are charging me for services that I have previously canceled.

And while Photon MIGHT be a good service, there CS is absolute shit. And im pulling this off of there site. If you can't find the section I pulled this from, I'll give you a link so you can read it for yourself.

First ever ticket I sent in took two hours. So far, this ticket has taken over 12hours. Im willing to forget the first one since its most likely one of those rare 1% that aren't answered within 30 minutes. But when my second ticket takes more then half a day I start to get angry. Even more so when they stated that almost every ticket is answered within 30 minutes.

So, perhaps Photon is a good service. But i'll never sing praises about them since they are obviously not capaiable of keeping there word, their supposed 'promise' to customers.

 

Please help me with these questions.

 

ok i need someone to explain me how this works, if i buy the package of 25$ from photonvps how many sorc bots am i allowed to run and how can i check them? do i have control on the vps?

 

Warp2 is the $25 one? If so most likely 2-3 bots. Yes you have total control of the vps, well in terms of what you do on the vps. You check them by logging into your vnc through a vnc viewer.

Its better to get as much W4 as you can since it'll be cheaper in the long term.

That aside, why use a non specialized VPS when you can get a VPS that is designed for RS botting?

The only down side is that they rarely have spots avaliable. Its a damn good service and once you try it you'll be wanting to keep it. Watch over the site for a while and buy a package when they have them in stock.

 

Im running warp 2 from Photon atm. I was running a kminer t lrc, a flax spinner, and a f2p water rcer. Before this i was running LRC+Flax spinner+ red chin hunting.. Another setup is Kminer+Hunter and 2 clay softeners off rsbuddy. Just some of the things possible off a warp 2... Photon is the shit, in 18days with it I got 50-99mining, 1-87craft and 99hunter 2 times over and 100m cash Guys I'm not even talking about sorce garden $ farming! I'm just a regular dude who is using a simple vps to enjoy rs more

 

Yeah I figured that out after relooking at it.

What I really want to know is how many bots (sorc garden, maybe ess instead) I can run on it?

 

On a W4? 8 most likely, 10 if your luckly. (Sorc)

It really depends on the complexity of its task.

If your just using a miner, i'd say 10 easily, 11-12 if your lucky.

 

What are the full requirements needed to run 2-3 bots?

OS, CPU, Disk Space, RAM, Bandwidth etc?

Guys my client glitched and I can't stop my bot.. Its crazy like only the rs screen shows up and everything around it where the green sqaures are is white. and when I click the x to close the window nothing happens. and im runing a 35hours prog at flax lol. what do i do?



is there a term command to quit nexus?

 

Reboot your vps

 

Type in ur putty reboot and start your vncserver or just kill the process.

 

ugh i rebooted and now it says unable to connect to host connection refused. I feel like i screwed soemthing up when I rebooted

 

Photon's customer support has really gone downhill the last month.

Before I bought W4 I would get a reply to my tickets in minutes, and now it's DAYS.

I understand that they might have a lot more tickets than before, but if they are so swamped that it takes more than 24 hours to respond, they need to hire more people. Seems like they are being cheap asses with only a few people in customer support.

Any ticket I submit gets put on hold. I'm at 1 day and 13 hours without a response. Must say I am VERY disappointed as I have been praising Photon here on Sythe for a while. Needless to say I won't be renewing this month, and am going to try and find another VPS.

 

Ok so i went into putty and i logged in and typed reboot, it said rebootig now. I then closed putty, reopened it and typed vncserver, •vncserver -kill :1
•nano /root/.vnc/xstartup
and then the other screen came up where ur supposed to change “twm &” and change it to “startxfce4 &” but its already changed cause i did it when i installed my vps.. So where do i go from here? I typed vncserver again but nothing happened. Any guesses?



ok i just typed vncserver like 2 times and then tried vnc and it worked lol... did have to re setup vnc..

 

After a reboot all I need to do to access my vps again is to type in "vncserver" into the terminal and press enter (putty in your case I guess.) You still get the connection refused message after doing this?

 

You did nothing by doing vncserver followed by -kill vncserver.

If you think about it, the '-kill' should be very self explanatory. It 'kills' the server, so you can't log in on vnc viewer.

So if you kill it after you enable it.. you essentially did nothing. You need to do -kill.. and then do vncserver. That will solve it.

The nano /root/ thing should not ever be messed with after the initial setup.

Also, two days for my support ticket to get answered. Two days, when they stated on there site that most/all tickets will be answered in under 30 minutes. I don't know about you, but does 2880 look anything like 30?

Did you cancel it through paypal? I did a cancellation on their site and the VPS got shut off but I still got charged for another month because I didn't cancel the subscription through paypal. I did submit a ticket and got refunded though.

I agree, I never like their CS, even though the response was fairly quick at the time I was with them, depending on who replied to my tickets it was usually a half assed response. I think they need to hire someone who will spend more then 5 seconds on each reply.

 

It was due to that, but the thing is that any half decent company should know when a service is canceled and then cancel, from there end, any payment subscriptions.

Im willing forget the money issue since its now resolved but im still standing by my statements about how Photon is a lying company.
