set limitations on post count per day.

what i mean by this is make it so that a user can post as much as he/she wants per day but only allow "x" amount to be added to his/her post count per day.

the main reason i think this would help is so many people look at post count for "trustworthiness" and this kind of thing happens -- http://sythe.org/member.php?u=290877

if you look he has 40 post per day is a forums addict in just about a week of being here on sythe.

i have not "i agree" and "totally man"

i know what all flamers are going to say " well post count doesnt prove trust well more people look at it to determine trust then we like to think so i believe this is a good idea

I find this stupid. Post count shows how active the person is. If you want to stay on Sythe for hours and be active, it is reflected through post count.

    Completely disagree.

    No support.

I agree with you i see 1 week , hes a forum addict. I think mabye a limit fo say liek 10-30 per day shoudl count, people rely on status for example forum addict, guru, ect. If i were to seee a join date of 3 years and under 50 posts, then i would be suspicious of that considering that they just come whne theyre in need to scam some fast stuff.

I disagree, simply because if someone has a outrageous post count per day, like said user that you have linked, then the mods will go through each and every one of his posts, and if any of them are spam or worthless posts, they will delete them & infract the user.

    No.. ;3
Posting is what keeps the forum active. It's there fault they post a lot in the community and you don't? Post count doesn't deem someone trustworthy, nor does the join date. I fail to see why people think this.. If anything, it's the reputation of that individual and his past trading experiences.

Makes no sense. If someone is blatantly stating "I have higher post count, I am trustworthy" then honestly forget them and move on as they obviously aren't.

It's up to everyone to interpret everyone's post count, and vouches to come to the end result of how trustworthy the person is or isn't.

I'm sorry, but if you view post count as "trustworthiness", then you're not being very smart. Scammers don't have to trade anyone to get their post count up, but they do have to trade to get vouches.

While vouches aren't 100% proof of trust, they do help more than post count.

Doing this would just acknowledge that post count matters, which it doesn't.

everyone said exactly what i said they would " post count doesnt matter anyways" i can show you two profiles one that has 500 post count and 2 vouches and one that has 5 post count and 2 vouches both vouches are for same thing exactly. which would you most likely trust? assuming both have same join date etc?

as much as everyone likes to deny it almost every single person in the forums factors in post count to see if they are willing to go first to them. i see it all the time on people threads. " you only have 1 post count dont expect people to go first"

for those that are hardcore on it then why even have post count then visible to the public? it doesnt matter to anything now does it? maybe good to have for your own viewing pleasure but since post count doesnt matter then why have it seen by everyone? this would also mean no user titles unless it is a custom one that has no reference to a rank involved with getting post.

i dont judge by post count but i know that a lot of new members do.

Very hypothetical situation for one. Of course you'd trust the individual with the higher post count considering he's more active within the community. My question: Why trust either of them? It's a rather simple answer, use an MM or OMM!

Two, people are "proud" of their post count and it shows how active they are on the forums.. I know many people that post -Marcell <3- simply because of it. Edit: As well, there would be absolute no incentive to posting on the forums.. How many people do you think just post to post?

Disagree. I love posting a lot, not to get post count up rather then just try to get things done.

    Also posting keeps forums active.

No I dont think you should just report the spam or threads they are spamming and let the mods deal with it. Although Painted Rain is like one of the biggest spammers and recives a ban most weeks. Just use the report button.

Also, you might be the only person supporting it simply because you don't have a good argument.

    why trust either of them?

there is no reason to. it is basically the lesser of 2 evils.

now closed assuming i answered the proper question
