It doesn't necessarily mean hosts.ini was changed, and that would only change DNS results. (no pop-ups off a sub-domain) What version of windows are you using?

Also, what's the modification date to your win.ini file? Has it been modified recently? If yes, what are the recent entries?

Reinstall windows immediately, then change all of your passwords.

    It's simple and effective.

Turn off the WiFi or unplug your Ethernet cord. Now try to run a scan and then be sure to restart your computer. You could have something that is redownloading itself.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is great imo, not sure if it detects your viruses though.

Is your primary internet browser only affected? Try other browsers such as firefox, google chrome, etc

If it only affects one browser, then it probably installed something pertaining to that browser.

Like one said before, try a system restore if that doesn't work.

It does not seem to do it on Google Chrome, but Firefox and IE are really messed up.

In my opinion, Kasperspy is the best for these types of things. Spyware Doctor, Spyware Terminator, Malwarebytes and Spybot also work, but the efficiency is limited at times.

The nice thing about Kaspersky is a quick regedit will reset the trial.
