Hey guys, Im suggesting that since there are multiple scammers on this forum banned/unbanned it is essential to point these people out.

I am suggesting we create a thread and state:

    Paypal Name:
    Paypal Email:

This could be used for other websites such as moneybookers too. It would be placed as a sticky on all categorys in the market section.

    How would it work?

    You begin a trade.
    You are either a buyer/seller
If you are the buyer, you refer to this sticky and search up the sellers details such as "name" and "email"

This can easily be done by CTRL + F "This opens a mini search bar which matches anything you write to letters/names on the screen. An example?

Tell me what you think.. I personally think this would be pretty good. The only way this would work without this being spammed is that it only gets updated by peoples emails/names which are reported in the report a scammer section.

    lets say A reports B
If enough evidence is laid against B
His details are placed on the blacklist
This could also work with individuals which have TWC's

Kinda in for it kinda not.
That'd be the messiest thing in the world to try and organize, have you ever looked at the scam reports each day?

I think this has been suggested and rejected on these grounds.

There are an innumerable amount of people that scam.
It is an exceptional hassle to keep it updated.
It most likely will die like the 400 accounts not to buy.

Yeah, I have its like 4 pages a day. GoHaN does a great job, But if we were to implement this, We would require additional staff to cater the needs of the thread. I wouldnt mind updating this but thats not up to me now is it?

Its not that hard? Just send a PM of the Report A Scam thread being accepted my GoHaN/Global Mod's then include their info to a individual, in this case if I was to run it, it would be me, Then i could update it. Dont think it would be that difficult.

    Half support/half dont support.
I think that its a good idea to stop people from being scammed, but a bad idea because there will be way too many emails etc. to handle in 1 thread. It will also be very messy.

But overall, I'd have to go with no support, sorry. I just don't see this working.

Well, You could have 1 Master thread linking to 4 threads through one year. There would be a thread for each quarter 'jan-march' and then that way it wouldnt be a 5 page thread of names and emails. There is still a good possiblity that this would work if any staff or individuals were committed enough.

While this looks like a good idea on the surface, "Let's compile a database of known scammers."

    • Be a pain to keep up with
    • False reports
    • There's nothing to stop people from posting emails/paypals ("Well, they can just be deleted.." Well, that's time consuming.)
    • VERY easy to make a new email/PayPal
    • Hard to look for an email/PayPal on such a thread.. Better off Googling it.
    • Frankly, there's to many reports to keep up with.

It would be better if people simply traded safely, and used a MM/OMM when needed. Developing a list like this would waste staff's time and energy, and it's not very likely it would even be successful.

    Nonetheless, I'm against it.

False reports? This thread would be linked to the people found guilty of scamming in the Report a Scammer Archive. No1 can post on the thread apart from certain People which get special permission since it's a locked thread.

You can't make multiple paypal accounts under different names then link them to 1 paypal after you scam someone on one. It's gonna be sus to paypal and they will limit all the accounts.

Plus you can still be chargedback using a OMM or MM. so it literally makes no difference now does it?

How would it be hard to look for it?
You press CTRL + F. It opens a search bar then you type the email and it will highlight an email if it's on the list check the image

Many RAS don't actually involve PayPal and a majority of the time are based around RSGP and accounts. As well, having very few people would DRASTICALLY slow down the process and would be quite a burden on a few people.

Being charged back on an OMM/MM is much less common.. As well, people can easily use something such as WU.

How would it be hard to look for?.. The number of replies on a thread is finite.. Saying that, there will be more then 1 page which means they'd have to use CTRL + F of on every page. Only way to bypass this would be to have initial post(s) be constantly edited. In turn, very few people can do that and I doubt individuals would be given moderator permissions to do this.

Well, Im sure a MOD or equivalent individual could spare what? 30 mins a day to keep this single post thread updated per day?

The logic is there, and this has been suggested many times. A user can simply use Google, and find most of the information needed on that without having to use up valuable moderator time.

    No Support from me, Sorry.

The time constraint is only a problem because this thread would be utterly pointless. It takes about fifteen seconds to change a PayPal email address. Spending thirty minutes a day just so the scammer can notice his email on there and change is it really, very pointless.

You can change your email address on your paypal account.

I can keep the same paypal address, just use 50 different emails for it.

    So this will NOT work.

Even the name, the excuse can be "Oh, we have the same name, thats awesome!!"

Oh I never knew you could change your paypal email address. Thanks for the information. Get a mod/admin to close the thread please.

Was worth a shot though =]

Just like ChristmasCracker said, PayPal emails can easily be changed. I don't think names can be changed, but people can always make a new PayPal. I wouldn't support this idea either way.

I do think you can change the name, I haven't checked it out, none the less, this would also just give people some email addresses to send phishers/viruses to.
