The new trees look terrible..

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. I don't like how WoW-esque everything is becoming.

 

YES, What the hell is wrong with Jagex?

They're horrible..

Look at how big the damn tree is, Almost half my screen is filled with trees

 

Soo you're mad because they look more realistic? Take the fact that you ever knew about WoW out of the equation and compare those trees to the old ones. These look more "real" than before, if you can say anything in a virtual world looks real.

 

They look retarded.

 

They stick out like a sore thumb with RuneScape's graphics. Why would I take WoW out of the equation? They set the standard for graphics in MMOs. It looks like shit, plain and simple.

 

If they set the standard, why would Jagex want their game to remain sub-par? Obviously they want to try and make it look as nice as possible but since they didn't start at the same place as Wow, they have a lot of catching up to do. One tree at a time. You can't say WoW sets the standard and expect other mmo's not to want to be on the same level.

Meh, could be worse. Like the varrock guards. I really hate those. But indeed they don't really fit into the game. But no problem if they change everything. The problem is they're doing it so goddamn slow.

 

It has something to do with bot detection I know that much.

I'm not bitching, I'm discussing. What's the point I'm missing? If you say WoW is better graphics wise, why wouldn't they want to be more like WoW? You can't get mad at them for trying to make things look like what you see as the standard for graphics in MMO's. They're clearly trying to do better.

 

If they're going to integrate these better graphics in, then I believe they should not be doing it gradually. These new trees clash horribly with RuneScape's signature blocky/sketchy graphics. All biases aside, as I did like the old graphics of RuneScape better than what they are now.

 

Have all the trees been updated? As the ones i've seen so far don't look to have changed.

Mind you, i'm repping out low detail on my bot clients.

On topic: I think it's about time they start trying to catch up with the rest of the world.
