Random question about NCAA eligibility.

Now here's the situation.. I've never played an actual team sport in college, excluding intramural sports. I've been in college for 2.5 years now, and I'm not really planning on playing any sports, as I'd like to focus on school for the time being. However, I'm probably going to return to school to get a Masters, in the future.

My question is, when I go back to school.. Will I be eligible to play collegiate sports? Technically I never played, and didn't use up any of my 4 years of eligibility (5 if you count redshirt).

Anyone familiar with the NCAA's sometimes ridiculous rules have any insight on this?



Also, sorry if a mod feels this is the wrong section. I would have made this topic in Sports/Outdoors forum, but this is more of a question about NCAA rules, than an actual sport in itself.

 

I am almost 100% certain, that after you get your Bachelor's Degree - you may no longer NCAA eligible to be a part of a team. This is because you have "officially" graduated college.

If this is an important thing to you, fill out the paper work and pursue the sport right now. Granted there are "red shirt seniors" who have been in the program for 5+ years, but that is a completely different story.

Bleh, that's disappointing to hear. I always had the assumption that I could return to college years later and still play sports. So I guess the only way I could do that is if I dropped out, aye?
