pid [Explained in depth]

Hi guys. I know alot about pid as it is a very big thing in competitive castlewars.

Pid, is player id, that you receive when you log in. You are unable to check what your pid is, but sometimes your runescape browser may crash, and you will have a hs err pid notepad on your desktop/documents. that was your pid for that session.

Pid not only determines who hits first in staking, but who picks items up first. If two people click on a party hat on the ground at the exact same time, the person with the better pid will receive the partyhat.
This is the same with castlewars when a flag is dropped, the player with the best pid will receive the flag.
Also in castlewars, if "player a" tinderboxes a barricade, but "player b" has better pid, and explodes the cade, at the exact same time, "player b" will explode the cade. This brings into the discussion "all pid".
Go to a themed castlewars world , and alot of people will be flaming, calling others "all pid"

if you follow someone, your character delays and then walks, it means you will not hit first. If you follow someone and your character is in there ass like a hyena, then you will hit first.

I hope this clears some stuff up.
Pid never used to be around, it used to be IP, and whoever had there IP closest to 0, would pick up the party hat. To determine if your IP was better than another person, you would get the third number if your IP, and divide it by 8, if your IP was 0, you were invincible in castlewars.

For example if my Ip was, 276-129-48-29

48/8=6, so your IP was counted as "6". I dont know why, but thats how it is.

It certainly exsited in rsc, was crucial for pking.

of course not, staking is 99% luck when staking someone the same level, although if your oppenent has 1st hit he'll have slight more chance to win, but most of it is all luck when you hit

Jagex changed it, IP doesnt matter anymore, only PID.
And PID system was used in RSC too, yes.

 

Thank you for posting, is it possible to find out ur PID while playing, or is it possible to alter ur PID?

This is pretty awesome to know. So, if I'm about to stake 100m, I just walk behind someone and if it does it quickly, I have a higher PID? Awesome

Although, I guess there is some skill involved? And lag etc.?

 

each time we relog our pid gets better? or can it get worse the next time we relog?
