RuneScape vs. Law? Law doesn't give a shit, because well mainly RuneScape (Jagex's) headquarters are in the U.K. so..

 

If the money made is all donated, it is not taxable. Also if the money made/kept is under $600 it can't be taxed (If you make more than $600 and donate it all you can't be taxed).

 

This is a sweet cause . Plus, I have never seen someone get in trouble for selling gold, so you will be fine.

you are making money and in all probability not claiming this as income, and not paying taxes on it. so yes, it is.
