Frankly put, if you run a lottery worth 300m gp, you have to match that with 300m more gp on the side to ensure paying everyone back if your rs account which holds the gp gets ban hammered.

In other words you'll need to provide your own insurance, and then be approved by the admins as well.

I can provide insurance. I have around 330m at the moment, we could just let it go that high, no higher.

 

I would participate, but I would also like to have someone a bit more trustworthy host the competition. I'm not doubting your credibility, but I think you understand where I'm coming from.

I suggest contacting Tmoe about this, as he was recently talking about starting something like this.

However, if no one wins that week, the gp should go to Sythe.org, as a anonymous donation.
OR, it can build up the total jackpot in the end. (Like the real lotteries are held)

10m first week, no one wins, so that 10m just gets added on the next jackpot.

I think this sounds like an excellent idea. Also think it is a good idea about the post above me by chrismascracker about making the money go towards sythe.org as a donation if nobody wins.

 

I don't support, to many 12 year olds will be complaining that they didn't win and that they picked a certain number.

Who cares if they complain? There's an ignore feature on Sythe and Runescape, it's useful.

Yep, if someone complains they didn't win, then it's their fault.
If a lottery does happen, it should have a "fine print" to it.

 

Of course there would be a lot of well thought out ToS. I don't really see why this wouldn't work. I mean tyro used to run a raffle similair where a random number generator was used to pick the lucky contestant. And he used real money, people sent entry fees in paypal gift, and he sent the winner the pot in paypal gift as well. This was why it stopped, paypal noticed this trend of alot of small payments and one big one and knew he was running some sort of raffle, and thats against the ToS of paypal. With RSGP though, I think the sythe raffle could be restored, is it even against the rules?

People would find ways to abuse that and so-for wouldn't be fair.
Also you would need first a trusted member/staff to handle that.

 

Ssupport, just as long the donations goes to SYTHE and no one else,and of course the lucky winner. Also I think this should be the like IRL lottery, let me explain.although it would be a bit more chaotic for who ever runs it.

Little lotto, jackpot lotto etc.. jackpot tickets cost 10m to get ticket little 3m?
cause people like me don't stack our mills by the hundreds.

Also should look into someone a bit more trusted to hold the cash, just saying
